This thread has really gone down Hille. I'm I'm gunna fly like aN Eagle and see WATS ON the telly instead. Hopefully Nash Bridges starring DON Johnson.

I reckon Zaharakis sounds a bit like a Japanese curse word

Za! Harakisu!

All jokes aside, does anybody with a greater knowledge of the TAC players know why Rockcliff didnt get picked up? Seemed to have pretty decent credentials.

Is he a chance for our PSD pick or a Rookie spot?

He's most likely seen as a player that could just be a small forward.

He's not quick and has concerns over his ability to be able to play midfield.

There have also been some concerns over an ankle injury he had that could stop him having full movement.

These are pretty much the reasons Emma Quayle gave on SEN.

adam cockie would be a decent PSD pickup - as would clancee pearce. both have the bodies ready for AFL. we can take some kids including a ruckman in the rookie draft.

Maybe they realise that enough is enough

I meant back when Spikey was sinking to the lows of Yellow Schoenmakers.

Anyway, back on topic, I'd like to see at least two of De Boer, Sibosado, Rockliff, Stanton, Klemke and Allwright with rookie and PSD picks. There's a few likely types in there.

Rockliff is a pure forward, a small one at that. Has got a fantastic footy brain and pretty good mark but that's probably where the positives start and finish. He isn't overly fast, hasn't got a real skinny frame so not much room for improvement there and isn't overly tall.

The recruiter's these days look for quick & agile small forwards, and that's where the game is heading. It's getting quicker & quicker every season and athlete's are really starting to get a foot in our great game, not relying as much on football smarts. Look at Naitanui for example, taken with pick 2 and has only been playing footy for the past two or so years. I'm not necessarily saying it's bad, but I think it is very much the reality.

Would be disappointed if he wasn't given a chance on a club's rookie list, really smart around goal and has a good head on his shoulders.

Add Clancee Pearce to that list as well, would be a good pickup, especially if we could get him in the rookie draft.

I don't understand why we would pass on a pick 77 which we could have picked up one of these kids, just to pick one of them up 2 weeks later. Could we be going for someone who wasn't nominated for the National draft?

The only reason i could think is to conduct a little more testing on these players, but still..

Cousins wont go away and has been done to death.:p
but......
Melbourne wont, Carlton are getting Johnson, Port are all for Carr, That leaves Essendon and Richmond. ;)
just kidding guys. but would welcome him with open arms (for his footy creds)

I was of this opinion but after seeing clubs so keen on him (St Kilda, Brisbane and Collingwood) pull out after thorough reviews, it has to tell you that there is something seriously wrong still.

That's it. They'll invite a few of the prospects down to train at the club and have a prolonged, more detailed look at them before the next drafts. Being at the lower end of the draft, decisions probably aren't as clear-cut, so the extra time helps ensure the best possible picks. This is especially true for bottom-aged players.

In a few years time, we'll be talking about at least one of the players drafted in these Rookie or PSD drafts, saying "How was he overlooked in the main draft?!". Hope he's ours!!!!

According to people at EFC, we won't be getting anyone down to train with the senior players. If they need somewhere to train, they'll be with the Bendigo prospects at Windy Hill.
