Levi Casboult - (Dandenong Stingrays)

stingrays-pgc6_pgc6.jpg

From afl.com.au .........

What type of player are you?Tall marking player that uses my size to advantage and a good contested mark. When in ruck I push hard forward and back to make myself an option and give a chop out.

Which AFL player do you feel you resemble, and why?
Justin Koschitzke. A tall marking forward that hits packs hard and also pushes into the ruck when needed.

What are your strengths as a footballer?
My marking, from playing in the ruck and being undersized I worked hard on my jump and strength to combat that, which I think is working to my advantage.

What parts of your game would you like to improve?
Picking up the ball below my knees, marking down low, handballing with distance on left and right. While I have improved my kicking there is definitely still room for improvement.

Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them?
Carlton.:thumbsu: A lot of my extended family barrack for them so I didn't really have a choice.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far, and why?
Darren Flannigan, whenever I have a question or issue he always helps and is very knowledgeable. My parents are always there for me giving advice not always about footy but for my good.

From what i've heard he is a solid kid who throws himself into a contest and has reasonable skills.

We've really tried to add some real tough nuts, who work well when the ball is with the opposition. Have seen a bit of Cachia with the Knights, and he's a pretty big unit.

I'm normally an Wayne Hughes critic, but I have to say this Rookie Draft gets the two thumbs up from me (in addition to the fact he's got a fantastic track record in rookie drafts) :)

Joe Dare - (Colac/Geelong Falcons)

What parts of your game would you like to improve?
All aspects.

Hmm....

I don't care much that we didn't take Panos. Levi seems to have something going for him.
Stoked with Dare, don't know anything about any of the others but I'll still give WH :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Simon White - (Subiaco)

From afl.com.au .........

What type of player are you?
Hard-working, honest player who is team-oriented. I think I'm versatile and can play in many positions on the ground.

Which AFL player do you most resemble and why?
Adam Hunter. Because I normally play down back but can be used forward to kick goals at crucial times in matches.

What are your strengths as a footballer?
I am good overhead and in a one-on-one marking contest. I have good closing speed, which allows me to spoil my opponent often. I have good skills on both sides of my body.

What parts of your game would you like to improve?
I can work on my fitness and my foot skills. I would also like to improve my pace over the first five to 10 metres.

Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them?
West Coast Eagles. I was born into a household of Eagles fans and my family has been members for years. I loved going to watch them play as a kid.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far and why?
Scott Watters. Coming into Colts footy, he was my coach. I was light and not very fit. He told me what I needed to work on, He is now the league coach and has really helped me develop into a league footballer. I have been able to talk to him about anything to help me become a better and more consistent footballer.

Joshua Donaldson - (Ocean Ridge/West Perth)

DONALDSON%20Josh_draft_246_meeta.jpg

From afl.com.au ..............

What type of player are you?
Tall and quick for my height. Skinny but tough.

Which AFL player do you feel you resemble, and why?
Dustin Fletcher - he is tall and not too built (muscular) but has a good reach and is quick for his height.

What are your strengths as a footballer?
I'm tall, I can jump high, I'm very competitive, a good mark and a long kick.

What parts of your game would you like to improve?
My mental toughness, my all-round game and my ruckwork.

Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them?
I support Richmond, always have, my whole family does so I just followed on and Richo was my idol.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far, and why?
My father - he has taught me so much about my game and being a coach he sees stuff others wouldn't.

Simon White's WAFL stats.....listed at 192, but pretty sure he was measured as 190cm at state screening.

I like the look of Donaldson as a project tall.

Waite-like with his leap and agility as a potential lead up tall half forward.
Maybe we will come out and defend each of our selections again? :o
Carlton didn't draft enough quick legs in this draft. ;) :p

Re: What the clubs said

Wayne Hughes (Carlton)

Cachia is a little ****en pearler. Goes in hard and in terms of public appeal it's important that we maintain support amongst the Sudanese poplulation and...what's that...whadyafugin mean he's Italian...oh **** it all.

Umm...yep that White bloke from over West. Never laid eyes on him to be honest, but he's 192cm and that's all the scientific analyses I require...what's that...whadyafugin mean he's only 190cm...of **** it all the Big Footy members will string me up by my sack if they get wind of that.

Joe Dare is off a dairly farm and consequently has been kicked in the head a bit as a kid...absolutely no sense and no fear. We also wanted someone with an intimate understanding of bovine relations so that we could thaw our traditionally frosty relations with Caro.

Levi Casboult just has a ****ing cool name...nuff said.

And whatsisname...the ginger. The back office guys said we needed to pick him to keep Sauce Jacobs happy...apparently he's been a bit marginalised of late. Mitch Robinson just hasn't let up on him...of course Mitch hasn't quite joined the dots and worked out that he's a ginge as well, but he'll cotton on eventually.
