Tom Hill KPF
Kyle Hartigan KPD
Sean Tighe KPF/ Ruck
Serhat Temel FF

Some of the names that
Didn't get picked up.

Daly I was very keen on, but Casboult has some potential to be developed as a FF.

Jaryd Amalfi and Tom McKenzie another two I was expecting to go who didn't.

I have the same question for Kyle Hartigan and Chris Luff. Had hoped we'd pick one of these guys up, now all three are left holding the baby.

In the modern game (unless you have another standout quality) talls have to be pretty zippy off the mark, and decent agility to not be exploited, those three didn't really have any part of their game standout, and didn't really have the athleticism to be rookie projects.

Anybody want to help me out as to why we picked Cachia? From what I've read he is Ellard v.2. Please correct me

Cachia is 184cm, plays HBF or as a big bodied mid, nothing like Ellard, ran a 2.95, although at times he doesn't quite look that quick on the field.

Superb drafting this year by WH and co

Looking foward to see if Casboult and Dare's development

Hopefully we can see a bit of them in a few years time.

I am very happy with these selections. I really like the Donaldson selection, that says to me that we may feel that Jamison's body may not be up to it and in an insurance move we have selected Donaldson (and White to an extent).

Congrats to Wayne Hughes and his team for another job well done. Really excited by the talent we've picked up yet again,

So now we have Casboult are we going to win the flag? hehehe :p

All the kids look the goods, nice variety there. fwd, mid and defs.

I don't know what happened to Hartigan this year, but he was considered pretty athletic last year and one of the best defenders around his age group. I thought he may have been worth a go, but hey, 16 recruiting managers don't agree with me so who am I to argue :D

Doesn't show how well Cachia is built for such a young bloke. His body would almost be AFL ready at this stage. Lovely kick of the footy.

Personally, i'm rapped with the players we took today. WH, SR and their team should be applauded for getting the best talent they could at the club.

On Splendini's point about the guys that didn't get picked up, you have to have reasonable pace and agility to be picked up at AFL level these days. Recruiters know there are many things you can teach new recruits but generally you can't make them quicker or more agile. Fergus Watts was the last slow FF that was taken reasonably high and he failed miserabley at both the Crows and St.Kilda.
