ok that's about what i thought...

i think i will go to bed at 12 or so and just d/l it in the morning.....

stupid waiting....i want to play it NOW!:mad::mad::mad:

my d/l is almost finished now....it was $23.95 as kerrby said and a 329mb d/l

there will only be yanks playing it now so i'll probs just give the single player a whirl

alright well i beat the single player and liked it

it wasn't as amazing as i was hoping but still alot of fun to be had (i know this is a game that's meant to be played online...i'm meaning it in the gameplay sense)

i havn't played any online and probably won't until after the weekend....but it's going to be interesting to see how the community plays it.....

there's some jobs i just can't see the community wanting to play as but i guess we'll have to wait and see how it all unfolds.

i'm pretty pissed that it didn't give me my trophy for beating the single player campaign :thumbsd:

So the single player was fairly short I take it?

How do you play it online? As in, you mentioned different 'jobs' so do you have say 4 players working in co-op against the computer doing different jobs? Or is it 4 human vs 4 human? (4 being just an example of course)

well the single player took me about 3 hours to beat all up i think....but i had it going while eating and on comp so maybe take a bit of time off

but yeh the online is 16 players vrs 16 players and by jobs.....i pretty much meant classes.....but to be successful you 100% need variation in your classes working together.

there are the obvious warriors, medics, workers, mages etc....

i'm just intrigued to see how the community plays it out....or if everyone just wants to be a warrior without trying to upgrade everybodies powers etc....

if you don't go into a group on group battle without a mixture of archers, healers and warriors chances are you will lose.

playing felt like i was just pressing square a billion times.

I played online for an hour or so thing morning. Didn't have any connection problems. From what I saw, people seemed to be working together well enough. There were people building/repairing stuff, collecting cake etc. Being able to change classes pretty much any time (sort of), probably helps. Didn't see a whole heap of medics around, but they were there occasionally. It seemed to me that the classes are needed though if you want to win, so I reckon people will change around classes. The builders or workers or whatever especially. Some of the benefits they provide are pretty cool. ;)

Anyway, hardly played it really, so it may be different for others. Fun game I thought. :thumbsu:

It's a good game, feel a few things could be changed though. Also I find that I keep seeing friendlies running towards me and thinking their spies. Too much TF2.

just thought i'd say that the wipeout fury dlc pack is AWESOME!

the new gamemodes are my fav yet and this is probably better than wipeout hd imo....
i try to beat a world (or stage or whatever you want to call it) every session i play.

this is pretty much exactly double wipeout hd in size with 8 new maps (i think) and 3 new race modes (i'm pretty sure...)

sorry to be so vague but it's practically an essential d/l if you enjoyed wipeout hd.

nice and cheap too at $15

CLOSING COMMENTS

There's so much more to say about this "little" downloadable game, but I doubt you feel like reading a five-page review. Titan gives you a toy chest full of classes, ladders, and more and lets you tackle the same problem over and over from whatever angle you like. I thought I had Tropical Punch by the tail when I started bringing workers over through a shortcut and building springboards to launch the red team into the blue base, but the next time I played that map, my opponents had a constant guard on the well-known passageway. It's that kind of versatility that makes the game for me. Figuring out why the bombs of a worker are awesome, lighting your sword on fire, and knocking open your castle's front door just long enough to shoot someone in the face are great experiences. I wish the servers were fixed, that there was a better leveling system, that I could form clans, and that I could make a private room that wasn't connected to my friend list, but in the end, all that matters is that this game is fun. If I had a free hour this past weekend, I played this game, and even though the review is done now, I don't see that changing anytime soon.

8.5 Presentation
The game has style in spades with the "Why I'm Awesome" screen and "Baby Got Back" playing over the credits, but wonky ranks and the lack of password-protected rooms hurt.

9.0 Graphics
The world is bright and beautiful, the blood is plentiful, and the dismembered hands and feet are hilarious.

9.0 Sound
The distinguished-sounding Brit giving you play-by-play ("They're in our base killing our dudes!") is great and I dig that that the princess' voice gets more disgusting as she grows.

9.0 Gameplay
You can switch hats -- and thus classes -- on the fly so you should be able to find a play style to suit you, but the game will really open up when you start combing efforts and working as a team.

9.0 Lasting Appeal
As everyone gets better at the game, the matches are only going to get more intense. It's going to take time to master every map and know everything backward and forward.

OVERALL 9.0

I would probably only give it a 7 at this stage.

The sound is ok, that 'killing our dudes' thing was funny but does anybody else get sick of the constant updates when a team takes over an outpost? Sometimes they change hands so quickly all you can hear is that pom blabbering on.

When I start playing some decent online games I will like the game more I guess, might have to play a few with WP lads.

Ive tried like 20 times and have only managed to get into an online game once...really starting to annoy me ...

Almost finished the single player mode, although relying on the computer to do what you want so you can finish the game is frustrating at times...one mission took close to an hour.

I have had the same problems. Most of the time in Single Player I have just run around doing my own thing until the computer finishes the mission. I have just added heaps of aussies so hopefully that fixes the lag issue.

in the single player if you want your allies to follow you while trying to capture the princess press up on the dpad near the classes you wish to follow you....when you're done with them press down on the dpad.
i'm sure you guys know this already but just making sure.

then you can capture her yourself with a priest healing you....warriors attacking archers getting them from far away all while you carry the princess...

also it helps ALOT if you build and upgrade everything first.

having the catapult built makes things FAR quicker and easier.

as far as the lag is concerned i havn't played online since the first time when i had no problem so i will probably avoid until the patches i think.

the Fat Princess single player was easy it probably only took me about 1.5-2 hours in the end. You can do everything yourself easily you just need to upgrade the priest so you can heal and suck the hearts out of each player which gives you easy kills and XP.

I think I've played online for 10-11 hours or something like that you just need to upgrade the catapult and priest and you should be getting into the top 10 at least each match. I think i'm 31 wins and 10 losses with 500 kills and 400 deaths atm.

I played a couple of games online with all Aussies and it was sensational. First game I did very very well and managed to get 4th... second I was about 10th or something but then the host left the game by accident. Might have another crack soon, I had no lag at all and it is a very very fun game with a bunch of humans.

Another re-post from the GamesCom thread.

IGN said:
DEAD NATION
The world's human population has been ravaged by a killer virus that turns healthy people into shuffling, flesh-eating zombies. You are one of the rare survivors yet to succumb to the illness - and it's up to you to fight off wave after wave of undead monsters as they attack in their hundreds.

  • Pit your wits against hundreds of zombies on screen
  • Blast your way with a friend in on or offline co-operative play and rank yourself with online leaderboards
  • Track your zombie kills with the daily online world map and reduce the zombie virus with other Dead Nation players in the country you're playing
Looks fantastic and a lot better than any other Zombie shooter in the same vein. Definitely has moved into my next most wanted PSN title.

how would you know?

it looks almost identical (gamplay wise) to burn zombie burn just with more realistic looking graphics (where burn zombie burn went for a cartoony arcadey look/feel)

unless of course you're meaning graphics wise....if so then carry on.

I mean a little of both, I actually think it looked a fair bit different to Burn Zombie Burn (Granted I haven't seen a ton of it so could just be seeing different parts, etc.).
Disagree. Zombie Apocalypse looks better IMO and that will be coming out before DEAD Nation.
Well I haven't seen anything of Zombie Apocalypse so can't comment on it.
