Thought it might be handy to have a thread for PSN games...



Just a heads up that only for the US store, there is currently a 'Summer Sale 2009' with a few discounted games (I assume only until thurs night??)...

• WipEout HD (was US$ 19.99, now US$ 14.99)

I've looked up the prices on the Aussie store, and also converted the current US sale prices into Australian Dollars on the following list. (apologies if I've messed up, or overlooked something here)

Interesting that Crash Commando & Brain Challenge are more expensive than some of the others on our store, whereas on the US store they are the same price as the others - hadn't noticed that before.

picked up worms on friday just for a lil time waster

graphics look very sharp though there's not really much on screen at one time ever so it's expected.

gameplay is tough to get the hang of but still a lot of fun. i struggle alot.

apparently the ps3 version has the return of the holy hand grenade and the sheep bomb which was for some reason not included on the 360 version (i may have the exact weapons wrong but i read it somewhere on a review on friday)

it's alot of fun but if you've played any of the previous you've played this.
they havn't really added anything new besides updated graphics and probably online multiplayer.

The thing is we ALWAYS get ripped off in prices. We pay more than the US even when the dollar is converted.

We also get r*ped all the time compared to the US store (Although biased fanboy Hbn00b disagrees ).

I was thinking of getting Worms though... but it's not as good as the old PC version, correct Camo?

I guess I'll just wait out for Metal Gear Solid (WHICH BETTER ****ING COME SOON OR I'M GOING TO RIP SONY A NEW arseh*le !!!), Zombie Apocalypse and Marvel vs Capcom 2.

i dunno about the old pc version.....but it plays and feels almost identical to the psp version i had before selling my psp

they're all pretty much the same.

it's probably not worth getting really simply because it's probably free on the net somewhere....i just got it because i like having diff types of games on my ps3 and i need to keep buying stuff to fill my over the top 500gig of space on ps3 lol

also i don't like the screen view....when you zoom out everything is too small and when it's zoomed in you can barely see the guy you want to take out.....i may need to play it again and tweak some options but save your money kerrbs

Talk about a broken record Kerrby.

The conversions for the PSN are usually fairly good considering we tend to pay double the retail than the US for actual retail games (That being US$60 AU$120).

Anyway we had a sale a little while ago (Might have been our Summer sale in fact) which included WipeOut HD, PAIN, Ratchet & Clank and quite a few others for cheaper than usual. Went very close to buying R&C but decided against it because I haven't played ToD and thought it might ruin the story or something.

I guess it might just be that I don't give a shit if we don't get a dud game's DLC or Free Video's, Wallpapers and Themes (Which are all essentially worldwide anyway).

You want MGS so bad, you know exactly where to get it.

This one looks pretty cool - it's played in reverse.

There's no mention of a release date, other than in the comments they say definitely not before 2010.

PC Version is always going to be better. It's a shame they've never made a definitive PC version with absolutely everything customisable and every weapon they've had in the game as well as a deep multiplayer. They tried to reinvent the wheel after Armegeddon, then they try to strip it back and take away features we've always had.

picked up shatter just before and will give that a test in a few minutes....

it's gotton really great reviews so should be a bit of fun....was only 9 bucks so pretty cheap

also i bought the wipeout hd fury expansion pack which was 15 bucks.....if wipeout hd is anything to go by this will be tough but AMAZING

havn't seen any reviews of it yet but i don't feel i need one as i know pretty much what i'm going to get.
i havn't gone in it yet but it's almost like it has a more evil feeling to it which is kinda cool....

might give my impressions/opinions on monday

ok even though i've only been playing for about 10 mins while sitting on this chair in front of the computer i can say that shatter is freakon AWESOME!

i'm def going to play this one as more than just a time filler.

pretty poor reviews from what i read

i'm not really into tower defence anywayz so i didn't even bother with the demo


just beat shatter before as well, really great game.....sorta started feeling repetitive at the end but was def worth the 9 bucks

i only have 2 trophies i need to get for it....
think i could beat the game in a single session without using a continue quite easily but i think beating all 10 bosses in under 10 minutes could be a little difficult......actually very difficult.

i'm not sure if i'm going to bother with either though as i already got exactly what i wanted out of the game

Finally the best PSN game this year gets a release date.

Can't wait to finally give it a go.

Priced in the UK at £11.99 so I have no idea what that equates to for us in Aus. But maybe $15.95 at worst around $19.99. Still getting it no matter the price, I'd get it for $100.

I'll be getting the pseudo Platinum for this game.

Yeah must admit, 6 is perhaps a little extreme. Sort of lost track of time there for a bit.

Anywhere from 1 onwards is probably late for me on a weeknight. Don't start work til around 9:30 and only live 10mins away.
