Popped into the North Fitzroy Arms this week for lunch and they have a "Fitzroy" room with fantastic memoribilia and also current BBFFC items. The food and libations were also excellent. Can anyone recommend other watering holes that provide similar experiences?

Most of the more 'traditional' pubs in Fitzroy have some great old fitzroy gear, the best ones i can think of are the Standard, the Napier and the Union

Talk of Fitzroy pubs reminds me of the last great 'suburban' clash at Princes Park in 2003 (?) between Brisbane and Carlton. Everyone - and their kids - came along and, after a stirring victory, we chose to walk home to Queens Parade taking the traditional pub crawl route. It was great to share this somewhat with the kids what it used to be like on a Saturday evening - scarfs out the car window, footy replay on in the pub, each player discussed at length and getting better as the beers flowed, 'your' pub jumping and maybe even a band on later after getting a meal ticket ( who can forget the variations of the stroganoff theme ) .. and falling happy and legless into the comfy chair for more replay and a noisy snooze ...

Even the Bris Lions City watering hole, The Turf Accountants Bar, in Queen Street has a fair bit of Fitzroy memorabilia there as well as some Bears and Bris Lions stuff.

From memory Roosy's locker door is there?

The Napier, opposite the Fitzroy Town Hall, is where me and a few hundred others returned after the Lions won the 2001-03 premierships. Was plenty of Roys stuff up on the walls in those days.

As well as those mentioned already, The Rose has some Roys stuff on its walls.

The Napier is a great little pub, and plenty of memories in there for Roy Boys :thumbsu:

Just rehashing this old thread because I was inspired by the user name "Lord Newry"!

Shall we name all the pubs with a Roys ambience, as described so well by the OP?

Here are some more, the memories of which would be welcome from you guys!

Obviously, the Albion Charles Hotel in Northcote, known for its role as host to the Fitzroy Social Club, and the long legal battle regarding its ownership.

The one in Brunswick where Ins & Outs nights were held on occasion, on Brunswick Rd or nearby. Who can refresh my memory?

Without doubt, the Lord Newry, which was a perfect launching pad for so many Reds matches, and often a landing pad, too, upon re-entry. Which also brings me to mention the Tramway, for the half-time breaks.

One of my favourites, the Markillies Hotel in Flinders St, City, which is now a backpackers, I think, without any trace of pub left. I used to stop there on my way to see the Roys train when they were doing their drills at the Lakeside Oval.

Floor is now open.
