I think he’s actually referring to supporter contentment. When people lose perspective and get so damned mad at the loss of a game of footy that they feel compelled to spew forth angry vile insults at all and sundry, but specifically singling out players for a crap game, or coaches for making/not making decisions etc. etc. He wonders how anyone can enjoy the game when they come from that angle. And he’s right. I’ve often made comment in here that I don’t see how some of you could possibly enjoy your footy at any level given how angry you always seem to be. And if we are spewing anger and vial insults at his players constantly, would they actually be enjoying their footy either? Well, that’s how I took this comment in any rate.
I think he's referring to the fact that two people associated with the game have attempted suicide just this year.

Mental health issues are rife in the game.

I will no longer support the crows if Ross is coach, no way on earth is he a good coach and history proves that.

History shows the exact opposite. He is a good albiet very unlucky coach. 4 grand finals isn't it?

No different to Blight prior to Adelaide

Not that I'm advocating Lyon, he isn't a good fit for our scenario.

He lost the grand final in 2017. How is that proof?

You have to be a good coach to even get to a grand final.

If he was poor to average we don't even make it that far as he didn't inherit a side that was in a peak and had been there and done it.

Who knows if we had a competent GM whether he would have found a way to taking the next step. There is a chance though.

Interesting comment from Chapman on 5AA.

"Now that Pyke has resigned I expect the external the review to be wrapped up fairly quickly"

Yeah, because the review was supposed to find Pyke and the players to be at fault for everything

Now that is the worst possible result if so.

Chapman seemed unprepared for all this today. Normally a better media performer. The mounting pressure on him is taking its toll.

My issue is that I think the club believes that if you make the finals "anything can happen".

The club needs to strive to be Number 1, not just strive to be good enough to finish 8th and hope for a miracle Bradbury premiership.

And for a period of time, not just for one shot at the end of an era. Not often we've finished top 4 and backed it up (other than 05/06).

We've never been that top 4 or even 5 teams for 3 or 4 years, and maybe that's really hard, but most premiers are around the mark for a few years.

Every time we return to the top 4 for pretty much most of the list and the senior coach (not the assistants...) it's their first time.

I can see it now, Burton appointed new head coach.

Chapman, probably - “we searched high and low, and we’re confident Brett is absolutely the best available candidate for the job. Even the AFL said he was great when we asked them, and commented on how well he has been doing at the club so far so we’re really comfortable with the decision.”

1) A feeling the job was done, when it wasn't.
2) Yes we lose. But the players and club still get that high by merely making a Prelim. And thus the satisfaction.
3) Is that attitude inherent in our club, heck our State.

1) I have no doubt our players went into the 2017GF thinking they "deserved" to win, because of the hardships they'd been through, and that they expected to win. After all, they had hammered Richmond at AO in Round 6, ignoring the facts that Richmond were on a roll, in great form, and played their best at the MCG. The Crows had to MAKE IT HAPPEN.
They didn't.
2) Teams and sometimes individuals play their GF in the week before, to get to the GF. Geelong were our bogey side (with Hawks) and we belted them at home in probably our toughest, hungriest game of the year. I think it was a case of "Job done, we'll beat Richmond now". Wrong.
3) The Club, certainly. The phrase "unfinished business" should be banned at the AFC  . It creates the wrong expectation (we deserve this) and prepares players with an air/expectation of entitlement. The teams who 'deserve' their Flags are the ones who win on GF day. It's a post-game judgment, not before.
The State, meh, who knows? SA has been on the nose economically and growth-wise for years.

If he said that, that would confirm that the review is just a sham.

Bickley is a worm. A low ranking ball licking functionary.
Bickley has been a huge disappointment post footy. Dude has no balls whatsoever when it comes to speaking out against the club.

Dean Solomon for me.

Competitive, aggressive and passionate.

The methodical, considered, composed hasn't worked
