Finally lost their VFL list and all the generous allowances have come to an end. This was inevitable and the question is did they do enough in the form of development ?

What? As opposed to all of the other teams in the competition at the top end of the ladder who are full of all of their juniors?
It doesn't matter which club you are at, if we want the competition to be of a decent quality, there is no way that any senior QAFL team is going to consist of players who predominantly came through their junior program.
All of the top teams over the last few years have recruited well. And I reckon most have had some questionable points allocations to recruits.

Quite a few of those teams have had "generous allowances" with player points over the last couple of years too.

Be careful judging future success on Colts win/loss alone. Plenty before you have not converted that into senior success.

In hindsight the player points concessions were probably the only way to return the club to QAFL. Many said at the time it would be 4-5 years for you guys to come back to the pack. It seemed a long way away then but here we are.

Not sure Aspley will bottom out but welcome to the battles all QAFL clubs have.

I get it re colts etc, I guess with 600 juniors (the largest on the Northside ) and a large social club it does give an advantage over other clubs towards the bottom… Morningside had 1-2 years out of the finals after their Covid flag in 2021 and have been a top end side the past couple of yrs

Anyone know if it was as a result of his conduct after the Grand Final last year (The winners acceptance speech on stage and driving past Graham Road on the way home and giving the bird in front of the hornets sign with the premiership cup and posting the photo on social media) ? I know he was hauled over the coals for that, maybe he just had enough

Anyone know if it was as a result of his conduct after the Grand Final last year (The winners acceptance speech on stage and driving past Graham Road on the way home and giving the bird in front of the hornets sign with the premiership cup and posting the photo on social media) ? I know he was hauled over the coals for that, maybe he just had enough

Brainy resigned as colts coach and all very amicable.The 450km round trip each week from west of kilkivan just to take training became too much. Plus they are moving back to Country Victoria at seasons end so may be sooner now
