Skip and Dip...

I will pick the best 11 on the balance that I think will win us the match, not on who's ego needs to be fed or who thinks they are above everyone else.

Having said that, we have a wealth of bowling options and I envisage that anyone whinging about selection in the first game will struggle to find their way into the team for the second game.

So you have no problems with a player who has never played for Queensland SOO calling for me to be kicked out of the squad.

No ego here for you to feed Homer. Never have I asked for selection in any SOO or internationals. Didnt ask last season, you asked me. I dont have to push my barrow like some. I did my bit in making noise that you should be Captain, unlike many of your counteparts, so good luck to you and your new Queenslanders. I wont be part of a team where the leaders tolerate 'newbies' calling for someone to be kicked out.

And furthermore when the great maroons come together, club loyalty and egos are thrown out the door for the one cause. There is no place in the Maroons for ego and self obsession. Right from the start there were certain people who tried to undermine you being Captain. This is not the maroon way. Right from the start certain people were bringing club bias and club mentality into the frame. This is not the maroon way. ALLIES mentality of self obsession has no place in the maroon camp.

You either get what it means to wear the maroon or you dont. Win, Lose or Draw its about pride in the jumper, carrying on the maroon spirit of mateship and the ingrained one for all and all for one mentality. Maybe its time for you or Kapow to share these secrets before the 'maroon' is completely undermined.

The maroon cause is the only cause that matters. As some just dont get it I see no other choice than to step aside as any further involement will only cause further destabilisation. Good luck in your quest for back to back but without the true maroon spirit it will not happen.

Ahh Skip, you have to be safe mate... You're ACTUALLY a Queenslander  ;)

Good luck to you dice man. Being a Queenslander means nothing to some. Fancy someone even joking about what colours we wear. In the old days they would cop a flogging and never be allowed in the rooms again. Times change my friend.;)

This is the bloke who accused me of writing a 'look at me thread.'

Same bloke who walked out of the Test side as well........ it's becoming a bit of a habit.

Skip...

I am not playing favourites with anyone. I will pick the best 11 cricketers from the squad. I will pick the best 11 who will represent Queensland the best, not the 11 I get on with the best, or the 11 that reside from Cairns to Coolangatta. The 11 who will represent our state with passion, flair and skill.

You are easily in the 11, probably the 3rd selected, behind me and NTPM.

If you wish to walk away on the opportunity to make your career sky-rocket into the stratusphere, then so be it, I shan't tell you what to do. But by walking away you are damaging the Queensland pride you are so proud of.

As a Maroon you don't turn your back on your state because of one issue, you bottle it up and smash the :D:D:D:D of the opposition, whether it be on the field or in the bar afterwards.

Dipper holds absolutely no sway in the selections I make. We won it last season with a squad of 12 Queenslanders, only 4 remain because the rest are no longer plying their trade in this league. And naturally those 4 are looked upon well by myself. But no one gets any favours at selection, or I am not doing the best job that I can to win this comp.

Thanks Homer. I understand what you are saying and I did take pride in playing for the maroons last season. You know how I feel, 'its more than a game, its a war'.

I would never ask for or expect favouritism. I pushed for you as Captain, not against NTPM because he is a fine leader, but because you did the job last year and deserve the right to defend the crown. I have made my decision.

I have nothing against the Allies players singularly, but as a group I dont like them. That is how Dipper likes it and I am quite happy to oblige. Im not into group hugs. I have underestimated Dipper. He is the heart and soul of BFFC, with his support for the international Captaincy being testament to that. I will not stand in the way of greatness and as such I applaud him.

As you well know, I cant play this charade anymore. I have sent a PM to iceman requesting that I be put in the NSW squad as an orange peeler and if any of the bowlers fall away I may get a game. If not accepted then I wont play, but my heart is with the blues, you know this.

Thanks for last seasons SOO success and I look forward to playing with you at queenslander next season.

Apologies for the terd in Dipper and CarterS bed, (I didnt know they were that close) but DNA testing will find that another player had a hand in it after a long night playing the dice at the casino.

On the back of Skipper Kelly's withdrawal from our squad, we will take in a more streamlined squad, with no replacement for the man who was to be our opening bowler.

It is a shame that we have a player of the intergrity and quality of Skip, but as any Queenslander knows, the position of underdog is our favourite!
