But here's a taste of the rant...
___
The Essendon backline will look much better for the return of Fletcher. Dustin, who was officially reported as missing last Friday's game due to a bruised buttock, has been the subject of much speculation during the week with some suggestion that stress fractures were the real reason behind his omission. Fletcher will no doubt be given the immediate responsibility of guarding Richardson. The speed (or lack thereof) of the Tiger big man shouldn't worry Fletch, while his tendency to rely on strong marking the best possible type of opponent for Dustin at this point. Fast leading forwards such as Tony Modra have been Fletch's week point over the year, so Richo's style will be a bonus for the red head. Sean Wellman will be given more latitude in his role on Ottens than he was allowed against Richo last week. Sheedy is likely to be keen to see Wellman running off Ottens as much as possible, something that was sorely lacking in last weeks game. The Ottens match-up will be a key one for the dons, with a dual tagging element sure to creep into the Essendon backline for part of the evening. Rama and Hardwick will also be more comfortable with the traditional backhalf setup, with Rama unlikely to be given kicking out duties based both on Fletcher's return and his juggling effort last week.
