I am flying up to Sydney 28th April to see the Demons vs Swans.
Is the redevelopment likely to be finished by then ? If not, will it effect availabity of seats.

Last year I went and there were about 10,000 spare seats, but if capacity is reduced by that much, then the match might be sold out. Do you think it will be ok if I book through Ticketek ?

My understanding is that the redevelopment will affect capacity all season.

So it probably advisable to buy a ticket as soon as you can if you're planning on coming up. Public ticket availability is going to be affected since the club wouldn't have wanted to turn away members if they could help it.

Thanks liz.

Its a shame they don't sell tickets now, because I have already booked my flight while it was cheap.

The same thing happened up in Brisbane when the Gabba was being redeveloped. I went to a Bears vs Essendon match and it was sold out. There were a whole lot of people who flew up from Melbourne expecting to get tickets at the gate who were absolutely furious.

I sincerely hope that I can avoid a similar situation. Maybe I'll have to pay extra to get decent seats. Mind you last time I went to the SCG I was shocked at how much Swans fans pay at the gates. It is insane. To top it off the viewing sucked, they don't sell any basic spirits at the ground, just cheap wine and the food and drinks were pricier even than the Telstra Dome.
