By supporters and the media in general.

In no way did I mention the umpires or their action or lack thereof. You and I both know many incidents are missed, glossed over or interpreted very differently by umpires - even those at the same game.

If you can't or don't acknowledge both incidents and the completely different reactions to both, then you are not serious.

As you can see, some posters now state BOTH incidents were perfect hip and shoulder. But that wasn't the case when they occured. Why?

Given that I support the team that Pickett's action was perpetrated against, and that there was no outcry amongst the Hawthorn supporters I know, I am quite comfortable in saying that there was no extreme reaction at Pickett's h&s.

In my opinion, it's a persecution complex causing the problem.

DCFC,

Give yourself and me SOME credibity. There was a media outcry over B/K and I would go so far as to say, the rules and tribunal outcomes were modified because of that particular incident.

Imo, if that incident happened NOW, Byron would be reported for charging. But the question remains, would he be found guilty?
What constitutes charging and subsequent findings are very much open to interpretation. I know what the rule states. Players, coaches and supporters are very confused by the many and varied interpretations of the charging rule.

In fact, I found it mildly amusing that Kelly pleaded guilty to "charging" and got 2 weeks and Creswell?? struck a player a received 1 week.

A bit inconsistent here. Pickett hit Krummel with nothing but hip and shoulder and knocked him rotten - Crumber got taken off on a stretcher, completely unconscious.

And you're right, Pickett could easily have taken the ball. But he went straight past it and took out a man who had his head down over the footy.

Look to the left. Krummel does not have his head down.:D

Channel Seven spent more time showing at that incident the next day then the rest of the game... Michelle is so right... I am shocked you even pretended to think the media didn't try to get Pickett booked by video...

When each incident occured, Byron was "lynched" for his incident - could have had very serious consequences, and Johnson was "knighted" for his incident - perfect hip and shoulder.

After the Johnson/Blakey bump Ian Collins was extremely critical of it and it's legality. To me that's hardly being "knighted".

Dave, that is the reason for my dissatifaction.:(

Fair enough.
