I was just wondering if there is much chance that we would pick up a rookie who hasn't trained with us? I've noticed that Leigh Adams and Nathan Batsanis are already trainig with other clubs. Does this mean there is very little chance we'll take them.

I'm hoping for one of these two guys. Both of them can kick goals and have good disposal by foot. Lack of good foot disposal is one of the biggest weaknesses in our team. It concerned me slightly that all our draftees (bar Gibbs) have suspect foot skills.

Again the question... Is ANYONE trainig with us? I mean really there are some talented kids left over. Can anyone give some truths about kids we are interested in.

Also, did Jackson and Flint train with us before rookie draft last year?

I remember that Ryan Jackson definately trained with us last year and he busted a gut to get picked. Can't remember about Flint but I have a feeling he did too.

I think Hughesy would be going through the guys he wants to invite down at the moment and we'll probably see some of them at training either today or on Friday as theres only a couple of weeks left to look at them up close.

Both Jackson and Flint trained with us before the rookie draft.

Jamieson and Stephenson were training with us for a while, and I think we can rookie list them if we wanted to.

I'm hoping for one or more of Tom Hurley, Leigh Adams, Nathan Batsanis, Jake Williams or Sam Jacobs. I would have loved to get Rhyce Prismall with pick 83 in the ND, but unfortunately we will have to wait for next year if we want him.

Any chance of Smith being re-rookied given he isn't training with us? Feel he was pretty hard done by...looked like, when up and running, would be able to compete with the likes of Bentick, Blackwell and Carrazzo. Also built enough to provide immediate depth.

I would like to see another ruckman picked up whether that be Jacobs or Stephenson plus like the sound of Jake Williams.

Too small J. Would prefer Batsanis or Kelly as the 1st pick in the RD.

Dean Kelly also has leadership capabilities. He was Captain of the 2006 premiers and got BOG.

I hope we don't look past him as he will definately add something to our list :thumbsu:

Certainly had a great game in the TAC Cup GF. I'm amazed he and Batsanis didn't get drafted on Saturday.

Can somebody please give me more information on this Dean Kelly? As I don't know much about him at all.

As for my rookie choices, I want 4 rookies to be selected - Leigh Adams, Nathan Batsanis, Father-Sons in Jake Williams and Tomi Johnston and possibly Sam Jacobs. Thoughts?

I'd be very happy with Kelly. From the little of seem of him in the carnival / TAC GF, he looked a very good small/medium forward and I also was suprised he was overlooked. As a leader he'll be great, for those who've seen more of him what were the reasons he wasn't picked (speed, size, etc)?

Dean Kelly would be mid 180cm's, not that quick but very solidly built and strong. Played junior footy with him and he played a game for my club's (Mazenod) seniors in the VAFA last year (05) and he killed it as a 17 year old. from all reports the main query on him is his speed, as is with a lot of potential draftees. has very good footy smarts and leadership potential, and can beat backmen easily in a 1-out contest, hence his 6 TAC cup grand final goals. probably not quick enough to play midfield, but would be well worth a rookie list spot to see if he can develop into a small forward.

also would love to see tomi johnston taken late in the rookie draft, seems to have a great attitude and should be given opportunity based on his work ethic
