As exciting as those early days were, as a SANFL magpies fan growing up in the 80s and 90s im disgusted to read how Scotty was treated by some Crows fans. Every club has its feral supporters and Port fans weren't angels, i get that. But in a crows jumper he was just as much a crow as McDermott or Jarman. Some ***** i guess just didn't get that at the time. Considering we also had Trigger and Brownie it is astonishing.

Still gives me nightmares that game. We were sitting behind a family of Port supporters and this young fella in front kept turning around smirking every time the Maggies scored. Then we got our tails up and were trading friendly banter with the rest of the family and the kid (must've been about 12) was looking pretty gloomy lol...till Hodgo kicked that goal in the dying minute, He turned around and looked back at me with that shit eating grin, little kent.
Somehow i used to run into Scotty a fair bit back when he was doing the old black thunder gig with SAFM and i was on the road alot. I always snaffled a few good prizes from him.
