I remember when we drafted him and I thought at the time, "the poor kid will always be compared to what we lost."

I am probably perpetrating that thought, but unfortunately I had such I hopes for him as a player in his own right.

I guess I just wanted us to draft a local, first-round pick, who would be a star and go-home factor was not a thing.

Fast-forward to now and we have some great local talent. We are becoming a destination club and that's exciting!
