Adam White from SEN Sydney does some calling?
Adam Collins.Who's the other main commentator on SEN apart from Huddo and Whateley?
He calls the game like it's a funeral. Boundaries and good balls and wickets, he still commentates in the most deadpan bored voice ever.
ABC has really gone downhill, spend too much time reading out texts from people who are listening while cleaning out the cat litter tray etc.

A good portion of this government doesn't even believe in the ABC and would happily sell it, given the budget cuts over the last seven years we're lucky it's still here at all. The declining quality of the ABC is a deliberate policy.ABC has really gone downhill, spend too much time reading out texts from people who are listening while cleaning out the cat litter tray etc.
Yeah, he should have quit after the stroke. Ever since he came back it’s been obvious he suffered some serious damage.Had the ABC on in the car for the first time this season. Within a minute Jim had got the batsmen wrong, the bowler wrong and the umpire's decision wrong. I think it's time for someone to get the rifle Old Yeller.
Alison Mitchell is good but the others aren’t much chop - shame they lost RogersA few years ago we had Nannes, Chris Rogers and Katich on Grandstand, that was a fantastic line-up.
Nannes I like, Mitchell Johnson was good last summer, shame he's not back this year, and Allison Mitchell is great too. Still better than other commentary out there, the TV is always muted.
He's been in good form today, I've enjoyed him. I had no idea he was a snooker fan.Chappelli's still doing a good job at 77. Not everybody will agree with everything he says, but at least he's prepared to stick his neck out.
Is knowledgeable and opinionated, which makes him better than many others at the moment, and very passionate about the game and its history.

Those first three guys all had similar voices - couldn't tell them apart.
Thought Dirk would become part of ABC coverage with his quirky personality
Dirk’s a huge fan of what Dirk has to say I reckon, but generally does a good job.
Listening now. It’s like lunchtime at the nursing home - Maxwell doesn’t seem to be able to keep a coherent train of thought, and Alex Blackwell keeps on starting stories that she doesn’t know half the bits to.
I like Stuart Clark, but I can understand why people from outside NSW think that another New South Welshman is the last thing the commentary box needs.Stuart Clark has been a great addition to the ABC.
Alex Blackwell struggles on both radio and TV - needs more time in media training.

Blackwell is like the female Tubby Taylor....just states the bleeding obvious in the blandest terms.Listening now. She started talking about how the first women’s cricket match in Australia was played in Ballarat, and I thought we were going to be in for an interesting bit of cricket history - but turns out that fact is all she knew.Blackwell is like the female Tubby Taylor....just states the bleeding obvious in the blandest terms.
"Yes, Jim, I think the Australians will be looking to score more runs than the Indians"
"Australia are getting a good partnership here, India will be looking to break it pretty soon"
"He hasn't made many runs this series so I bet he's keen to score some today"
I get that he can be disinteresting to younger audiences.
But the first Test series I followed was the 70/71 Ashes. So i find his anecdotes interesting. He talked about Jeff Hammond tonight for instance - who toured the West Indies in 73 and basically carried the attack with Walker after DK broke down in the first Test.
I was a cricket nut as a kid and know precisely when he was talking about with Ceylon (later Sri Lanka). It was in 69/70 when the Australian team went to Ceylon before they did their 5 Test tour of India.
The mistake people make with Ian Chappell is that they write off his anecdotes the same way they, as youngsters, write off tales that old(er) people tell.
Once you get older, as I have, you wish that you had listened to these people and absorbed more.
I genuinely have no idea what has just happened when he is commentating. Spends a lot of time saying "what's happened there?"
