At least you Curtinese people don't have to fight with the general public for parking. That's what we deal with at Notre Dodge :P

One of the several benefits that come with going to a good uni ;)

i always head straight for the gym parking at curtin, always manage to get a park relatively instantly..not really that much of a walk either...maybe if youre a fat ****

Yeah I usually end up parking around there, but even then, if you're trying to get parking during the afternoon you're more or less ****ed.

You cannot whinge about carparking until you've tried to get a carpark at Melbourne Uni.

Melbourne Uni
Royal Women's Hospital
Royal Children's Hospital
Royal Melbourne Hospital
Lygon St
Visy Park

All within a couple of blocks of each other. Parking is non-existant. When I went to Latrobe to visit mates I felt like fapping at the parking options.

I don't think too many people would attempt driving to Melbourne Uni - that area is crazy.

Deakin Geelong has a lot of parking, but this week was a bit of a nightmare with one of the car parks being fixed up, as well as the fact that week 1 is always free parking and people actually attend classes. Hopefully next week will be better ($203 for a yearly pass, annoying, but worth it).

I hate to reveal my master parking scheme for Melbourne Uni, but I dont think I'll ever be back there for entire days ever again. I used to park at the Vibe Hotel opposite Prince's Park and walk down. The walk was pretty long but it was actually quite nice and a good way to just have a chance to walk and think about things.

Might have worked because I had NSW plates, but I always saw plenty of Vic plates there too.

During my last year when I had a final year thesis to do and hence had to do a few late nighters over the last two months, I would park and ride at the train station in the morning, catch the train and bus into UWA, then at 4pm I would bus and train it back to the train station, get my car and park it in the staff carpark (given that the rules for the car park expire after 5pm).

HELL TO THE ****EN YES!

i studied at curtin for 6 years and seen how appaling the parking has become, what was worse was rather the university improve the parking, they jacked up the prices from roughly 60 dollars a year to 150 and not increase parking spaces. theyre trying to deliberately make everyone use public transport. i dont see it feasible where i live as its a 15 min drive, a bus ride was an hour at least.

As of next sem it's pay as you go parking . Disgraceful that they are discouraging students to actually stay at the uni.

Surprising that no-one has complained about the rise in cost of the Monash Clayton parking permit. $320--->$350

The good thing is that you're always able to get a park, even at the start of semester :thumbsu:

What really shits me though is having to go over 7 speed bumps on the way to the carpark, is it really necessary?

People who wear bluetooth headsets. I can not talk to these people unless they take that thing out of their ear and smash it on the ground.

The other day while I was waiting for the train to work I saw a guy with TWO bluetooth headpieces on!

Which is a joke!!! Who knows how long they will actually be at uni? And who always has change? I sure has hell don't...

I saw a chick walking down Collins St the other day in the full business skirt suit, black rimmed glasses talking through a bluetooth headset, i thought it was pretty hot....guys, can't appreciate it as much.

Anyway, when you only know part of a song that sounds good and have no idea what it's called, nor who sings it, nor what any of the lyrics are. ****ing pissing me off trying to even attempt finding it. It's on the radio right now. It's a rock/alternative song, opens with a mellow guitar riff. Iot that big on the charts though going by the fact that I've only heard it a few times on air. The guy singing it has a deep voice. I can't even guess who it sounds like as I don't listen to this kind of music. For ****sakes

I've heard it on commercial radio recently but not often, only a couple of times. I just went through the aria top 50 singles and it's not there.

The song opens with a slow-paced guitar (I think electric) and drum solo before opening with the male singing. I can hear the guitar and opening vocals but no idea what the words are damn it. Sounds very melancholic. fuuuuuuuck

Heard the song in the shopping centre but could only make out three words in the chorus - "be with you!". He says it kinda aggressively/declaringly, and repeats it a few times.

Is this it?

No. The song I've heard is slower paced, more rock (it uses a real electric guitar and drums), and the guy has a more gritty rock-sounding voice. Plus it's a current song given I've heard it on the radio numerous times over the last month. Cheers for looking. Very annoying though.

A bit late but in future I recommend you hum the song and post it on Youtube. :thumbsu:

I think tail-gaters are tossers but I become one myself when it's a one lane road and the driver in front of me is doing a 50 in a 60 for example with perfect weather conditions, and there are ample signs around to let them know it is a 60 zone.

****ing ignorant American w***ers.

Yeah definite logic fail, but what makes me rage is how anyone can be such an arseh*le, they're still people. No doubt many of them just perceive Japan solely as an entity unto itself and fail to comprehend that it's actually comprised of thousands of people dying/losing their livelihoods etc. ****wits.

This is why people say they hate America.
