yeh rage looks absolutely amazing

Dated for September 2011.

For those of you drawn to Rage, the next eye-popping title from developer id Software, we have some important news: the post-apocalyptic shooter will be hitting store shelves on September 13th, 2011 in the United States and September 15th, 2011 in Europe. The date was announced during this year's Quakecon -- much to our surprise, as videogame release dates are usually not announced this far in advance.

Tim Willits, Rage's creative director, commented: "We are going to have the biggest, coolest, most badass launch."

I'm thinking Borderlands but without the epic co op.

Am I right?
Perhaps, but I think it'll have a better focus overall.

Borderlands was good and all, but it was fairly unstructured and very repetitive as it went on.

I think this will have a far more structured feel to the missions and just the way it plays out, not to mention it will be more of a corridor shooter (since that is what id are famous for). Hopefully the racing element doesn't get repetitive though.

We never know, there could be co-op too as there will be a form of multiplayer.

This game is looking better every time you see it.
Some huge wraps at E3 last year and you can see why.

Anyone else see Pinkman playing this in the last ep of breaking bad? Cooks meth and gets exclusive pre release versions of video games

Lol at the lightgun however

So I just preordered this bad boy.

Who woulda thought... we're at a time where we're turning to id software to get away from sequels.

That seems so weird to me.

I preordered through JB Hi-Fi... $99 as opposed to $108, and I'll be getting 3 comics with it. I'd prefer comics than a few plastic toys.

After watching one of the gameplay trailers I am so ****ing pumped for this game :D:D:thumbsu:

Pre-ordered today, so pumped :D

1 WEEK TO GOOOOOOO :thumbsu::D:thumbsu:

Rage proves a lot of what we already knew about id Software. The studio knows how to make great shooters and deliver incredible visuals and animations. With some of the elements we’re not as familiar with in id games like an emphasis on story, Rage isn’t as strong. The great controls and useful weapon upgrades help make Rage’s shooting parts a lot of fun, but the storyline fails to create any real tension and the game’s characters, friendly and hostile, never do or say anything memorable. As a result, Rage starts to drag toward the second half after most of the mechanics and upgrades are introduced because the fictional world isn’t very interesting. Despite the lack of genuinely exciting context, all the content packed into Rage is still a blast to play, including the surprisingly entertaining car combat mode and co-operative challenges. Rage isn’t revolutionary, but is an expertly crafted, beautiful shooter.

7.5 Presentation
Incredibly high production values throughout. Storyline is weak, few memorable personalities, no satisfying ending, game starts to drag toward the end.

10 Graphics
One of the best looking games ever made.

8.5 Sound
Great gun sound effects and a high quality soundtrack and voice acting.

9.0 Gameplay
Excellent shooting sequences and a surprisingly good car combat mode.

8.5 Lasting Appeal
A lot of content in the single-player mode, plus co-op missions and a vehicle combat competitive multiplayer mode.

OVERALL 8.5

That review actually excites me. It just says... id are doing what id do best. Create an environment and atmosphere that really hits you while you have some fun with some guns. Excellent.
