Just played a couple more hours. I hate the driving mechanics and it is shit how much focus there is on racing etc. Running around shooting things is good fun though.

It's not bad, no game of the year.

It's a good shooter with amazing graphics and visuals but can be a little repretative and the racing can be tedious.

All in all it's a good time waster and has it's fun moments I'd say it's worth a buy just try not to expect anything original.

To be fair, the vast majority of the racing is optional. The main problem I've had with it is their doesn't seem to be much point in upgrading your car. You get paid in certificates that pay for more add-on's but your never in much danger driving around in the outskirts anyway. I did do a decent amount but after a while there just wasn't enough incentive, although what's there is reasonably fun. It's not exactly Dirt or anything though.

Well I am only a few hours in. Good to hear that that will be about it for the racing then. I don't mind having to drive from point to point and combat the raiders, but jesus christ the driving feels like shit.

Don't mind the driving myself. Agree that atm there seems little incentive to upgrade my vehicle, but that said it's early days and i imagine shit is going to get real eventually with tougher enemies.

Good idea that you buy stuff for your car with different currency to everything else, saves you spending too much money on the wrong thing which could really handicap you.

The main things i would do to this game to make it better would be to

• introduce a fallout like xp based leveling system (can't understand why that was left out, getting that next perk was always a big incentive to keep playing)
• Make driving 1st person perspective. Would seem to make more sense, the third person dealio seems to break the immersion a bit.

I honestly don't mind repetition as long as it isn't like Assassins Creed. The game just needs to have a good story thought to keep me engaged which is why I love Fallout.

I'm so glad there's finally a shooter like this that DOESN'T have the complication of an RPG like Fallout. I don't have to learn anything, or get lost or confused... I get to play at my own pace and the world itself is breathtaking. It's my favourite game I've played this year.

Good, but not great, so far, anyways.

Up to Dead City now, will see if I get into it more.

Borderlands much better, IMO.

Dead City level was insane, epic stuff.

I like the game but it's not anything overly special. Sort of filling time until Skyrim and BF3.

But yeh it's fun. Bit repetitive.

Probably needs a bit more FP shooting bits and a bit less of the driving around bits. At least in fallout when you were walking from place to place you had some shit to shoot, taking out random cars isn't really the same thing.

Where are all the animals in this game? Surely a few freaky mutated bears etc should be roaming about, slaying a few hellbeasts that pop up on you out of nowhere would be cool.

But that all said, the FPS bits are really really good. Still loving it. 10 hours in and just switched over to disc 2.

Bawx version has 3 discs!

No big deal really. In certain points in the game you basically advance to completely new areas, and the disc change coincide with them.

You have the option to just install the whole game to HDD of course

I'm about 8hrs in and it feels like I haven't really done much. A little bit past winning the sponsored race by that tv guy.

I find that I never have money, I do missions purely for treasure and then spend all that money buying more ammo and health and wingsticks. I don't think I will ever be rich

Dont know what's wrong with you guys, but this game is awesome. The shooting mechanics are perfect, the weapons beefy and varied and the coop is a blast.

Admittedly the story is shit.

Easily a 9/10

Agree totally, but would probably give it closer to a 8-8.5.

Story ain't flash but it's>>>>>Borderlands(not hard), but needs to be better to get it up into the 9's.

Would have liked a few more RPG elements too. But yeah, what it does do it does flawlessly.

I may be wrong, but I don't think co-op works the same as Borderlands (as in it's a drop in-drop out format where you just play out the missions together). I think it's a completely different mode with a few missions removed from the single player side of things.
