If I have to use 2 trades I might just do it..

Hill -> Cheney
Raines -> Adcock/Macdonald

I need Hill, Suban and Patrenko to all be selected next week to gaurantee no 0's for me.

If I do the Raines trade, Adcock becomes a keeper for me. Is that to risky? I already have Houlihan in my backline and picked him as a keeper. Then Cheney will be the last player upgraded in my backline.

well i worked at if he avgs 55 each week up until round 8 he would be about 290ishk.

If he avgs 40-45 he make enough money for a cash cow, maybe 100k which i will take.

thats not a good sign then, suban looked much better than him (not that he looked great - but then neither did half the team).
I remember seeing hill about a dozen times on tv either presenting or running with a player in possesion but he never seemed to recieve it

I was at the game and watched Hill out of interest off the ball quite a bit ... particularly in the second half he seemed to be playing a run with role in defence (well more like defensive side of the middle)... which could somewhat explain his quietness in stats, as he was so close to his man neither of them got much of it... in the last qtr though he did look very tired... just stayed stuck to his man and never attempted to go for any ball up for grabs really. hard to read - if he gets that shadowing type role each week then ewww for DT - but hopefully he gets a bit more of a straight midfield role like the first qtr moreso

Always remember to factor in MN decrease DWD. He is priced at an average of about 32, i think with some very rough calculations in my head if he averages you 45 he will only make ~50k or less so you'd probably need an average of 55-60 from him to make a solid cash cow....

Doesnt sound right. 290k equates to an average of between 65-70 doesnt it?

Alright i got Raines and Hill on my field so i cant downgrade to Hill. I got 1k in the bank so i cant really upgrade either. So do i just hold onto him and put Suban on till he comes back or do i downgrade to Petrenko or Cheney?

if he can avg 40-45 i think he will be a good cash cow. He will make you plenty of money still avg 40.

If this years magic number tracks the same path as last years (comparitively) then, hill (priced at average of around 32), would peak at:

40 ave = ~165k
45 ave = ~180k
50 ave = ~195k
55 ave = ~210k
60 ave = ~225k
65 ave = ~245k

All approximations, occurring between around rounds 8-9. Thats just my estimates though...

if hill did well then might of just traded cheney for suban but cant really do that cuz hill's spot isnt guaranteed so therefore

i think downgrading raines to cheney/hurley and then waiting another week with hill and then possibly upgrading to houlihan or just straight swap to a gilbert/frawley etc. is the best way to go. anyone disagree?

Not huge on starting 2 back rookies though. Cheney will have to hit at least 65 this weekend for me to consider.

Would then need 2 of Hill - Suban - Cheney - Petrenko to play week in week out untill round 7 or 8.

May go the safe alternative and go Petterd/frawley althought i hate sideways trades.

Despite a reasonable score of 1996 my backline is in disarray. It scored only 459 -23% and contains:

Goddard Bock Cheney Raines Bowden McMahon Hill plus Suban and Broughton

The Richmond boys slaughtered me, but anyway, I already have 4 rookies with 2 starting. I should have thought about it more, but it's my first shot at DT ...

I assume the advice will be to sit tight. I have no money in the cap to play with, so I can't really see how I can trade out Raines at this point. And I already have Cheney.

Any advice ? And surely Bowden and McMahon couldn't be as bad next week.

Btw, what does MN stand for ?

If Hill is selected I may just downgrade Raines to Cheney and start 2 rookies in the backline.

I will then have 185k sitting there. Along with 4 rookies and Otten starting that need upgrades. I think Hill and Ziebell should be some of my first upgrades. But with that money, Krakouer -> Volt in a few weeks sounds mighty tempting!

I'm seriously considering trading next round, may go up to Petterd or down to someone like Cheney if he performs above average again next week. Wouldn't surprise me if Raines re-injures himself when he comes back too. Finds his way into traffic no problem.

Anyway, I'm hoping most people hang on. As people said, by the time I trade him (Just before Round 3) he will have already have been out for 2 weeks. Might as well hold onto him for 2-3 more max.
