Was Greg Kinnear anywhere as "rough" as Richard Roxburgh's Rake?? Where did you see/watch it?

Never touched the American version. You simply cannot do this show twice , it never works , there were 3 seasons of Richard Roxburgh's Rake.

It is a truly Australian thing , I hope the Americans did a good job , but it would have been different. Too different for me.

After watching Ricky Gervais doing all the Office series' , watching it probably twice, fully , I could not venture near the American version.

Perhaps it was brilliant but once again the British can only do this stuff.

I guess the American one was different and people like it, it is not right somehow, I tried once or twice , just no fit.

When this was first on, I really enjoyed it but it was a very busy time for me so my wife ended up watching a lot of it on her own. I would often hear her laughing out loud while I was working away on some tenders.

We just watched all 3 series, 1 episode after another on Netflix. Magnificent show. Great ensemble cast.

I found the storyline with Kirsty sometimes went a bit over the top, but they were good fun.

I remember a catch up with my sister in Fremantle one day and she was with her friend, the wife of a former high court judge. This lady was great fun and when we mentioned Rake, she said that she was a very good friend of Charles Waterstreet who created the series and is the inspiration for it. She loves the show and said that it captured the essence of Waterstreet himself who is quite a legend in the NSW legal community.

Looking forward to series 4.

Really looking forward to the return of Rake next week, one of the finest series Australia's ever produced.

Very good return, really miss the quirky humour of RAKE, and really started where it left off, lets see how the remainder of the series goes.

Liked the first episode, enjoyed last nights even more.
It's also nice to see the F-word count go up last night, it's starting to feel more like the Cleaver Green we know and love.:)

I thought the first episode was a little bit silly, while building the storyline. Enjoyable, but not brilliant.

Loved last night's episode.

Bonus for Justine Clarke, then an extra bonus for Adrienne Pickering returning. :)

I actually liked the Australian actors that were in the American series.
Mirando Otto as "Wendy"
Bojana Novakovic as "Missy"
Tara Summers as "Nicole"
Were all, at least, equal with the Australian actors.

The others felt off. Greg Kinnear came across as polished, smug and smarmy as opposed to a dishevelled lad that is Richard Roxburgh.

Shout out to Matt Day who plays David Potter in the Aussie version - absolutely nails the politician role.

Last episode's court room scenes was one of the greatest I have seen on the small or big screen. The vases and Green with an e and without an e rule!

Up there with David Wenham 's Johnny Spiteri in Gettin Square.

I was a little confused, how did Thompson get acquitted of all charges so suddenly?
