if you can get a decent second hand one.
the problem with macs is that they are waaaaaay more expensive than they should be, you can get all the same features, plus more on a PC, i would only stick with a mac from now because i like the OS and i've gotten myself used to it.

Depends what you want it for i guess, they're low power, low price, lightweight machines ideal for web browsing and google docs. If you want Windows programs and power then you won't get it out of a chromebook.

They are skipping 9. No official reason but there are theories out there including 9 being unlucky in Japan and Microsoft not wanting to possibly cause problems with a large part of their consumer base, or coding issues that could see programs think they are using windows 95 or 98.

I just need my current laptop to hold on until windows 10 drops, then I'll upgrade to something new. Looks really good IMO. Anyone got any sorta brand knowledge in laptops? I've established that Acer and HP are pretty shit. What's lenovo or Asus like?

They're a bit more expensive, but a company called Venom has some fairly good laptops. Lenovo and Asus both have some decent stuff. MSI has some more interesting laptops. Dell usually gets shat on but their XPS line is fairly good. The Surface 3 is alright, fairly expensive for what it is though.

It's not a dictatorship and there's not really a ban on gifs, but as it's said in the Posting Guidelines thread for some time, I'd like to limit/eradicate the number of posts that consist of simply a gif and that's it.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a couple of sentences accompanied by a gif if that's the way you like to post

Received a Macbook Pro for my 17th birthday and it's still like-new.

Nee chance of me ever using a PC again unless I really have to. It costs an extravagant fee for a reason. Those that slate Macs in defence of PCs are in complete and utter denial.

Windows does everything I need it to do, runs everything, is compatible with everything. Familiar interface too.

I don't really have a reason to switch to a Mac, but I do like the look of their hardware.

Bought a HP SpectreXT 11.5'' Notebook at the end of 2012 for uni, the screen case cracked and I had to get it replaced. I would have prefered of it was abit thicker, as the height of the notebook is aprox .5cm.
