Don't shoot me, but I think it's detrimental to the board. We had a discussion about 18 months ago which revolved all around what and how many competitions should go on at once. I think we decided on KOTW and AGOTW but imo there should never be more than 3 comps running on here at once. The more competitions there are, the less entries there are. You end up with guys like Craegus, Cory and Lmach, the top designers, who enter all of these and win all of them. I think the reason why the Teamworks comps are so successful is that there is a massive time frame.
The recent USFL comp for New York Knights had 2 entries. I'm not dissing Pie at all because I love the idea but maybe there are too many comps going on at once and we could just keep it to 2 or 3.
Completely agree, far too much clutter. I remember 12 or 18 months ago threads would stay on the main board even if they were inactive for a while. Now, 1 or 2 days and they get wiped away. I think when comps are run, or before they're about to be run, the idea needs to be approved by the board/mods/Doc just so we don't get too much clutter.
Also to go with that, when people start a new thread asking a question. There is a Question and Answers Thread for a reason. (Even though it's probably on page 2 or 3 (haven't checked) which also relates back to the clutter.)
Now I understand this board is very active and we often get bypassers who come on here to request designs and that's fine but I think we need to monitor the amount of unnecessary threads that are started. (also brings up the issue of bumping old threads)
Anyway /rant, hopefully we can get these things cleared up.
