I asked my parents if they would think about deleting it and I was like to my mum “do you not trust me” and then accused me of trying to manipulate her then when I asked again she said alright. My dad on the other hand doesn’t really want to. I both told them I’m deleting the app when I’m 19.

One of my sisters has something like this, I don't know whether I agree with it given the whole "she's an adult, you should respect her boundaries" stuff, but it's also linked to my other sister's phone and not my parents. In fairness she was disappearing without telling my folks where she was going for decent chunks of time, and unfortunately it can be pretty rough out there for women. It's a hard one, but I suppose at the end of the day they just want to know that you're safe...?

Okay cause you guys are the best advice givers I need some advice.

My parents made me get Life360 because of my incident last year, if you don’t know what the app is it basically tracks you. I fking hate it I feel like I’m under constant surveillance and never really get the privacy of going out alone, mind you I text them my movements anyways. I pay for my own stuff like my phone bill. And the sh*t that pisses me off is that they always say “we trust you but don’t trust others” like if you trust me then why make me have the app. I know when I bring it up they will turn it on me alluding that I’ll be sneaking around everywhere. I’m thinking about telling them when I turn 19.

Your phone does this anyway. Everything you do, everywhere you go is all tracked. (And now you have to carry your phone to get into most places.) There are camera's everywhere on the street and in businesses. You basically are under constant surveillance, just not by your olds. Tho that particular bit sucks. I'm glad my parents didn't know what I got up to when I was younger.

I think about getting this sort of software for my daughters when they get older. I certainly wouldn't track it all the time tho. I'd probably only use it if, for whatever reason, I was really worried about their safety. I know of lots of bad shit that has happened to people, mostly people I know. Perhaps apps like that would have prevented some of it? (I dunno tho.)

Anyway you can work around the app. It might be a minor PITA if you want to look at Tiktok or something similar while somewhere "private". You can go to someone's house where you claim to be staying, turn off location, cellular data and wifi access from your settings menu then power your phone right down and turn off update services in the app, probably by turning the app itself off. That would probably work.

Australia is a pretty conservative country with a fair bit of a racist underbelly. He’s on the vaccine situation now but I’ve seen videos of his shared on Facebook for years.

Ironically he has alot of anti immigration stuff and will share anything he comes across with African Australians or muslim Australians doing something bad.

He’s just a bottom feeder and better off ignored.
