Mate, this is just classic whataboutism. WHat Biden has or hasn't said isn't relevant to determining whether Rogan's a massive campaigner (see: he is).

The context thing is also nonsense too. This is hardly an isolated incident. There's plenty more of him being a piece of sh*t. Like imagine actually defending this and saying this sh*t ffs (EDIT: I meant this in regards to Rogan defending these 'jokes', not you VK). And there's heaps more examples in this thread.

Nah, but how funny are jokes about gassing Jews and the AIDS epidemic. It's okay though because he just chats to people.

It’s a show with comedians ffs. Spotify under pressure from the US government to remove episodes. Spotify is not a US company. Comedians make outrageous jokes because they’re funny.

Spotify just removed 70 episodes. Episodes that include dangerous comedians like Jim Norton, Bill Burr and Andy Dick along with people like Michael Malice, Kyle Kuklinski, Theo Von, Tom Segura.

This is censorship and it’s a slippery slope. Before we know it we’ll only have terrible comedians like Hannah Gatsby allowed with a voice.

This will backfire. I actually hope that Spotify pay out Rogan and he just does his own thing on patrion or something. Either way Joe wins.

People were trying to do this to rock n roll and rap and obviously failed. If you don’t like the show don’t listen.

They removed his interview with Louis Theroux ffs.

Look at this list, some of them are obvious as to why, like Milo and McInnes, and Alex Jones. But Redban and Bert Kreischer? Come on.

Also, are you aware of Mark Normans comedy? He’s very, very funny. He says outrageous stuff mostly about himself.

This is dangerous territory. Real 1984 type vibes.

I like you man but seriously no, no, no, this is what happens when every other content maker in the world signs exclusivity deals with a single platform.

They have to abide by their editorial control.

Maybe if he’s being censored so bad, he should just repay Spotify a proportionate amount of that $100m back to their shareholders and then he can say whatever he likes on a gazillion other streaming platforms without any pesky editorial commitments?

Or maybe he’ll just keep the money because he knows he got outrageous overs in the first place.

They even removed Maynard J Keenan episode. So strange, because they left Malone’s episode up. Guess Biden isn’t a fan of Tool.
What's going on here?

Maynard? He's not even anti vaccination. Something to do with Iowa trains?

I wouldn’t be surprised if he just has those people back on again like he did with Alex Jones. He’s talked many times about his contract with Spotify and the big draw card for him was that unlike YouTube they won’t demonetise him when he has controversial guests on. That was Spotify’s pitch. If they force him out then he’ll just cash in his chips and go somewhere else, there’d be companies lining up to have him or he can just go independent. Ironically this has probably made him more popular then ever.

Mate most of the removed episodes are just with comedians having a laugh. The internet sleuths are going through them as we speak. Another example is Duncan Trussel who is completely harmless and nothing but love.

You can believe him if you like.

Pitches are one thing, the legal fine print is another.

Unless he publishes the contract, I (and I think most people) will have a very hard time believing that he got $100m without any editorial obligations or oversight.

It would basically be unheard of.

People are even attacking the Rock now because he’s defending Rogan. They’re just fiends. He’s never even been on the show. Don’t think I’ve seen this level of support before someone that the mob is trying to cancel. Chapelle didn’t even get this level of support.

They removed 40 episodes last year and Rogan’s response was to have Alex Jones on….twice.

I think the most annoying thing is that the mainstream media lies all the time and never admits it, weapons of mass destruction was a nice one. Yet they’re all piling on a podcast because of misinformation? Definitely nothing to do with him dwarfing their ratings I bet🙄

I'm not really one for cancel culture, but from my limited amount of listening to Rogan's podcast and understanding what he's about, he should be embracing this kind of robust debate about what he's putting out there.

Also, if my experience with Spotify is any guide to what Rogan's experiencing, they have veto over what's on the platform and there's close to no recourse for content makers if their material gets dropped, irrespective of audience engagement.

Today I sat by the skatepark (where my eldest was busting some moves) and gazed over at the local cricket game happening at the adjacent oval, wondering how anyone who is not 18 or 65 or elite-level finds the time to play that sport.
SpiderBurton22 lol ask this guy

I ask myself that same question every week.

I basically stopped playing because I cannot justify losing an entire Saturday, plus training, plus all the little social events that the club holds that they will drop you for if you don't attend.

If they started at 9 and finished at 3 you could at least still go out for dinner on the Saturday night.

There’s no debate really, he’s not part of it. He said in his latest episode that he’s just turned off all social media and his manager is dealing with it. He’ll just keep doing what he does and that Spotify dont even ask him who he’s having on. sure they can delete episodes down the track but people generally listen within a week of them airing and dont really go back and re listen. Its like spotify are trying to look like they’re doing something without really doing anythin…..because some of the episodes deleted don’t make sense. They even deleted a fight companion episode. Its like they just want to look like they care
