I still remember talking to you about them back in 2008.

I still prefer Ten New Messages, by the way. :pNope, but it's been added to my list of 'must listen to' list.

I have two more albums for you; less 'significant', but they would be in my top-15.

The Libertines - Up The Bracket. My all-time favourite band. God I miss them. :( Doherty will be dead within 5 years, too.

Kings of Leon - Youth & Young Manhood. I know, I know. I hate Sex on Fire and that fourth album, too. However their first three were great. This is their first. Raw, garagey Southern Rock. Just a really cool album.

I had all the KOL albums before my computer crashed and was a massive fan before Sex On Fire... now I don't know if I can listen to them.

Was listening to The Rakes in 2007 :p Ten New Messages is the better album IMO.

Up The Bracket is a great album. I was really starting to like you. Then you said Kings of Leon. :(

No-one's losing anything, Alex Chilton (writer of 'Thank You Friends') died the other month, Lou Reed ('Stephanie Says') has enough money and would probably blow it on heroin anyway, the Clean are some 80's indie band from NZ and Gordon Gano has made enough money off Blister in the Sun.

Cheers. I will actually download it when I head into Uni next. How did you make it? I will have to make one for you guys, too. No homo. Strong, strong no homo.

Copied the songs I wanted onto the desktop (Important: Copy don't cut) and then put them in a zip. Then uploaded onto mediafire. If anyone does one I recommend keeping it under 20mb.

I assumed it was because it's in nearly every Australian person's compilation. That's not a knock, as I love the song, too.

It's an American song though...?

Sorry, brah. I don't judge, though.

Well, I judge teeny boppers. But other than that...

Fair enough :(

Yeah I don't admit to liking them upfront anymore.

Call me a snob, but it's reality. You say their name now and people automatically think Only by the Night.

I feel exactly the same.

I'm sick of hearing "I could use somebodeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh"

Read my comment to RIG.

Have you heard the album? Or in fact any of their first three (minus the song On Call, which was their first indication of selling out) albums? If not, do yourself a favour.

If so, well.. arrestedsad.gif

Yeeears ago, when I had a habit of watching Rage on Saturday nights. Never listened to the albums in full, I guess, but heard enough to make me really annoyed. His voice annoys me. That and bloody Wolfmother...

Given that it was some time ago I may be open-minded enough to give them another shot.

BTW you should only judge teenyboppers a little. Better to educate them. When I first posted on this website I was a massive Backstreet Boys fan :D

Oh god. Oh god. Don't admit to that.

I admit to listening to depressing stuff like Staind during my teen years, but, ugh.. More like the BackDOOR boys. Guys, am I right?

Awww come on, we've all got to start somewhere. I'm less ashamed of my teenybopper phase (Spice Girls, Hanson, Five, you name it) than the soft pop-rock crap I listened to as I was moving out of it. I used to love Nickelback, Lifehouse, Creed, Matchbox 20, Goo Goo Dolls, Hoobastank, etc etc etc.

****ing Nickelback.

Then when I was 16-17 I 'found' Oasis (circa 2002). Moved onwards and upwards from there.

My very first CD :eek::(

Which one? It's very important ;)

We were doing the Herald Sun (I know, I know) quiz in our lunch break the other day, and one of the questions was, "Hanson's 1997 hit MMMBop was featured on which album..."

Before the question was even finished, everyone looked at me. It was one of my first albums. And before I even knew I was answering, I came out excitedly (I'm a little competitive) with "Middle of Nowhere!!"

My first 3 CDs were as follows in order of purchase:

The Presidents Of The United States Of America - Selftitled
Blur - Selftitled
The Prodigy - Fat Of The Land.

Not bad for a 11 year old in grade 6.

Smash Hits 95 was my first cassette (lol). Bday present when I had my 9th bday party at TimeZone.

Yeah Presidents were amazing. I took me like 10 years to finally see them live when they played at the hifi bar like 3 years ago. Man that was an amazing night. Supported by Tripod and PP's best mate Dave McCormack Band.

I have to admit that I followed up that stunning trifecta with a Corona album and a BoyzIIMen album (lol!), but more than made up for it by finding my old man's Queen Greatest Hits 1 and 2 cassettes and listening to them on the daily.
