1. people freely saying what they think via online anonymity versus being asked a direct question by an actual human being, and
2. far greater statistical sample size.

Was thinking the same this afternoon. People aren’t afraid to reveal their hateful, selfish thoughts behind the anonymous veil of social media.

Want to call people animals because their skin is a different colour to yours? Fire away behind an anonymous account.

Want to act like you’re better than people because by sheer chance and circumstance, through no input of your own, you happened to be born in this country with these opportunities? Nobody will ever be able to trace it back to you, go nuts.

Social media is such an enabling concept, people do so much stuff online they’d never say face to face or put their name to.

Was thinking the same this afternoon. People aren’t afraid to reveal their hateful, selfish thoughts behind the anonymous veil of social media.

There is most definitely a pro and a con due to the anonymous veil of social media. Pro, means you can speak freely regardless of current political climate
Con, means people will bully, snipe, etc

There is sites such as the aus https://gumshoenews.com/ where some commenters put their real names with their posts. There is something good about this

But I would suggest these commenters are generally retired people who comment without the threat of loss job etc due to wrongspeak

At worst- Anonymity can be like a mask ala lord of the flies
But important to remember the majority of people are essentially good natured/willed.

Humans have been around for how many thousands of years..??
Social media has been around for 10 20 years..??
I don’t think we’ve really come to grips with it yet...

IMO at the end of the day one can only hope that truth and True Science prevails regardless of the PC Orwellian Bs
