You made a comment stating " I find it hard to see how people have no faith in traditional media" and in your response above you didn't answer the question I asked re what traditional media YOU put your faith in ... in fact you sidestepped the question and went of on a tangent.

None particularly to be honest but I trust them more than the alternative. They are held by standards that while they push boundaries are at least there. Fox interestingly was set up as an entertainment that looked like news. I think they more resemble that still to be honest. They are probably the least reliable of the mainstream media.

I’ve had a theory that trump was always going to go out kicking and screaming and more importantly leaving a shadow over his successor.

Barak, sleepy joe and Hill dog really did a number on him so his fall back was always going to be payback, they stole the election, blah blah.

Go back back to April 2019 and see my prediction joe would win the nomination and have a good chance of defeating trump. Ok I’ll admit I couldn’t predict joe‘s decline or covid but trump always looked like a one term president to me.

People need to calm down this isn’t Australia, joe has won and it looks like the republicans will hold the senate and gain in the house. With scotus locked away that’s probably a good thing, 4 years hopefully to heal mend some bridges and settle down.

The US can hopefully get back to some common ground and move on with a bipartisan dialogue from there, let’s see some new blood.

Anyway Australia has its own problems and demonising posters who don’t agree with each other is a poor effort Imo.
Trump wasn’t without his good points and accomplishments while also behaving like a fool on occasions, his tweeting was unseemly to me on many occasions.

Anyway he may have some valid complaints now but I think he’s a cooked goose and looking pretty desperate and quite stupid. Hey sliding doors I watched him give Jeb a serve lazy low energy etc and said to my eldest all jeb has to say is don’t you dare. You wouldn’t know what a hard days work is , you’re literally and morally a bankrupt person who has no place on this stage.

Ok sliding doors again what price will the country pay for running a candidate who appears to be in cognitive decline, trust me no one is going to be happy if Kamala gets a run. Anyway I’m pretty chill, can’t wait for the family in the US to give me a run down, some will be out of their gourds and others very happy, that sounds like a democracy to me.

Perspective - my son's (who is 12) best friend died a month ago....it was his mate's birthday today.

We spent the afternoon at his grave with a lot of his friends followed by a catch up for his friends sharing pizza and playing a game of footy at a local park, celebrating his birthday. The boys were boys enjoy playing footy wishing their mate was there.

Cognitive decline is probably not a bad thing. The president is usually just a figure head anyway. They push the party line and do what the advisers say. They'll just keep speeches short and meeting stacked with advisers to do the guiding.

**** that is shit. A few weeks ago one of my wife's friends died of brain cancer leaving behind a kid and husband. It's absolutely heart breaking, politics is really irrelevant and you do have to keep perspective.

IMO it’s better for everyone if Biden slow plays this for a while. The US system has 10+ weeks between election and inauguration, make the most of that to build legitimacy in the win.

There should be a whole bunch of investigations, legal challenges, etc. Hopefully the whole system comes out of this more solid and credible. That would be a great result for all concerned imo.

Given whoever wins it will still be a balance of power, do you think anything really changes?

Health Care and addressing inequality are both areas that are better addressed so yes. Health Care has been an issue in some of the states that have been significant ie Pennsylvania, Georgia etc

Elections should be based on policy discussion not on rhetoric, denial and self interest.

Question to you - are you ok with the way the corona virus has been handled by the Republicans / Trump and could this have been done better ?
