It's a risky approach, but the ideas have merit. There is no real reason for him to play it safe as he has already been to the top. So may as well take some big risks

Tackling a bloke and taking him out of bounds, does it count?

How about laying a good, solid tackle on a player and the ball spills out/jarred out then ump calls play on.. surely they should count as a stat? If not there is a lot of unrecorded solid efforts out there..

And smothered kicks dont count right? No matter the distance?
How about dinky lil chips? Up to the discretion of the stat counters?

Yeah I think so.

How about laying a good, solid tackle on a player and the ball spills out/jarred out then ump calls play on.. surely they should count as a stat? If not there is a lot of unrecorded solid efforts out there..

It's up to the stats men, some are more generous than others. If it resulted in a turnover then it would definitely count and sometimes they're paid even if it doesn't.

Partially smothered usually count but not when they're fully smothered.

You mean off the ground? If so usually they don't count, unless they go a long way and result in a mark or obviously if they score.

All I can find on Magner is that it was an ankle, but he was seen walking around fine at the end of the match.

Sounds minor, and the Melbourne board have him playing in next weeks predicted team. Fingers crossed coz' with McDonald out I really need my cash cows playing.

Is the new layout of looking at opponents teams / your own team going to always be grouped into teams rather than position, If so i think they are making a huge mistake here, the layout is terrible, and it's going to make it hard to compare player vs player when looking at opponents in league games.

Can I please have some clarification on the VC loophole for partial lockouts this year.

I would like to make Gibbs as VC on Thursday and Ablett as Captain. If Gibbs pumps out a 140, I would like to change the Captain to a starting but non playing rookie before Friday lockout like L Brown and and put the def emergency on someone like Bugg.

If I do this, does my Captains score go the backline emergency, Bugg OR does it go to my VC Gibbs??

That's why I asked the question. I thought I read earlier this year that VS had changed it so there is no VC loophole this year. I'm happy to be wrong on that though.

Yeah they tried to stop it by making it automatically select a captain and vice captain when you saved your team. But the Aussie way of always trying to be a smart $%#% prevailed by using a non playing player to still utilise the loophole.

Should I be playing 5 premiums in the midfield (Ablett,Selwood,Boyd,Fyfe,Dayne Beams and Magner) with devon smith and milera on the field in the forward line or should I have (Ablett,Selwood,Boyd,Dayne Beams, C Smith and Magner) with only milera on the field in the forward line alongside (Franklin, Fyfe, Sidebottom, Pavlich, Rioli and martin)?
