Possibly stupid question -

How long would Swan's VC megascore take to officially double on the Match Centre page? My current head-to-head opponent has Swan as VC and Port's Redden as Captain (a definite out, it seems), with Kreuzer locked in as the Emergency. Do I have to wait for the Port game to start for the score to double retroactively?

Not a biggie, just trying to work out how our scores might compare as the round rolls on.

At the completion of the game your captain doesn't play in, I think. ie, after the Gold Coast game if it's Ablett.

Tough call. Usually I would say keep Masten and upgrade him last, but Pendlebury has dropped a fair bit. Go with your gut instinct.

Its all based on numbers, maths and money ect and what you plan to do with trades after that round. So many variables to consider.

Its not about going with your gut instict or your hear or heart. Its what ever the numbers say.

What im trying to say is ...

If i am paying 100k to get 20 more points per week or paying 300k to get 30 more point per week than the first option is the best one.

Got to make sure your trading in keepers though. I have strongly considered Christenesen this week IMO his last 3 games have been superb and his scoring ability is great. He avg 91 when he wasnt the sub last year, which is easily a keeper. This year he has improved once again and has a very easy draw to come with a low BE. Im just not sure if he can be a keeper and if id prefer to pay a little extra to get someone more proven.

What if you have 300K and its your last trade? You will want 30ppg for the rest of the season. Spend all the money and get the points rather than have 200k left over...... If you use up too many trades on "value for money" you'll end up with lots of money and not enough trades left to use it. Sometime you need to pay a premium price for quality.

Well if you have used 23 trades already then yes money obviously doesn't matter. Isn't that common sense and general logic though?

Please explain your amazing reasoning behind this statement?

and don't just say "hes shit" and doesn't score enough.

Christensen is actually someone I heavily considered starting in my team during the preseason. Was in most of my very first iterations. Only thing that stopped me was him only playing 1 preseason match and not being sure if he was best 21 because of it.

Random Question.

After reading the round 5 trades thread How does James not get red carded?

I don't know all of the history but Ziebellion got red carded and didn't seem to call people names like James has.

Did my simple question about Masten result in 2 red cards - nice :)

I guess I really have to wait and see how he scores this week. Another 100+ score and i might hold on to him for longer. Pendlebury is very tempting after his price drop now but im sure there will be another premo who will drop later and I can jump onto.

Masten also fits in nicely with my bye structure in the mids. Round 12 - Barlow + J Selwood + Magner, 13 - Ablett + Mitchell, 11 is only Masten and 2 GWS rookies atm.

Thinking it might just be best to keep him until close to the bye rounds. Decide what to do when I know which rounds the downgrades are having byes in.

I have admiration for you in picking Masten. I've always defended him and thought he would come good (even after 'training the house down' and 'setting the NAB Cup on fire' numerous times), and so far in 2012 he's been fabulous.

Anyway in DT terms I'm just not confident he can produce the numbers you're looking for in a mid keeper. If I was in your position I'd be looking at Pendlebury definitely next week with a softish draw coming up and a lowish B/E. Unless Masten busts out a massive one on Sunday I suppose...

I know it's been discussed a bit, but I'm new and still a little confused:

The captain Loop-hole

I had Pendles as my VC, and Ablett as C (starting 22), with Gibbs as the Emergency for Ablett (who's obviously not playing).

So will Pendles get the double points this round, as Gibbs is still emergency?
