Call me an uncompasionate bastard, but I still find it bizarre that 1. It costs tens of thousands to get to Australia & 2. That many countries are crossed to get to Australia. To me it seems like it's not just about finding refuge, but a much much better life. (not that there is anything wrong with that, but to me that kinda defeats the whole fleeing part). I would like to add these are just my opinions, in the scheme of things the whole issue is over played. But it obviously stirs up alot of emotions.
 
Am I the only one who thinks "Go Back" is a bit of a circle jerk. If they ran it instead of A Current Affair/Today Tonight I think it would have tremendous social impact, but that it's on SBS where viewers are aware that it ****ing sucks to be a refugee/illegal immigrant reeks of the educated left getting their jollies by looking down on some dumb bogans. It's Jersey Shore for smart people.

I tend to agree with this. I was only aware of the show via a) a few mentions on Facebook and b) the ads about it during Letters and Numbers.

It was a fantastic documentary (even if I missed the end of last night because it went over time and my iQ cut out :( ), that has the potential to change alot of people's thoughts on this issue - and we saw the impact this had on the group that participated in this, in particular the young western Sydney girl. I wanted to jump through the screen and slap her in the first two episodes (actually, I was hoping they'd chuck her overboard on that boat in the first ep) but last night when she was in the Kenyan refugee camp it appeared her attitude was starting to change (although she chose not to go on to Congo).

Unfortunately, I could never see the commercial stations even touching this and it ended up somewhat preaching to the converted on SBS.

If you don't use abc and sbs as the main medium you get your knowlage of this world from then you dont deserve your democratic right to vote IMO, the commercial stations have no wish to educate you, because if you did you would be more likely not to buy some the crap they advertise, for starters.

LOL - Something is telling me that after the large amounts of alcohol and beer, cocaine, ICE, drugs, womanizing and numerous run in with the law, a bit of Botox or plastic surgery isn’t going to worry Carey about looking liked a smacked arse hole. :p
 
I know this chick who had a boob job in her 40's nearly 20 years ago.........they were mighty fine surgicaly enhanced assets. But in only a g string it didnt look right, it was worth looking but it wasn't right...
 
I'm certainly not complaining, but Channel 7 pretty much skipped their whole half time show, it only went for about 10 minutes or so. Why the change?

Yep, noticed it as well. I guess it must be to switch over from 7Two to channel 7 for the tennis by 11:00pm.
