Off season boredom had me trying to evaluate our players out of 10 in each of their GF performances, and come up with a cumulative winner. I've done a few, feel free to look at some others.

Jimmy Bartel
2007 - 8.5, 2008 - 6, 2009 - 8 - 2011 - 9.5 total = 32
Joel Selwood
6.5, 8.5, 7, 9.5 total = 31.5

Paul Chapman
9, 5, 9.5, 6 = 29.5

Cameron Ling
7, 7,5, 7, 7.5 = 29

Matthew Scarlett
9, 7.5, 7, 5 = 28.5

Corey Enright
8.5, 6.5, 7, 6.5 = 28.5

Joel Corey
8, 5.5, 8, 5.5 = 27

Steve Johnson
9, 7, 2, 8 = 26

Andrew Mackie
7, 3, 7, 8 = 25

James Kelly
7, 3, 8.5, 6.5 = 25

Stretching the memory a fraction for the 08, that's the one I have avoided rewatching

Are you only evaluating those that played in all 4 Grand Finals?

It's late, and I got lazy.

Others of interest.

Just as a matter of interest, how many posters, having sat down and done the detailed ratings, found the results to be different from what you thought before you did them?

PS not counting Senatorguesty.

I like the ps :)
I will try to sit down tonight, forcibly watch all 3 wins and give a score for every premiership player. Those who played in 08 get a 2. I don't care how well they did personally (inc ablett) because they were part of the side that lost to THAT mob.
Also the fact that I can't remember who played well and buggered if I'm watching that game again.

I don't think you need to watch them again, I think you got the ratings right already.

Ling could easily be on top, due to consistancy, and Selwood ended up higher then I thought. Playing well in 2008 bumped a couple of guys up higher.

Chapman probably the best over the four games in question. Ling was pretty good in all four, but never in Norm Smith contention.

Stevie J is probably the enigma. In 2007 and 2011 he tore it up, 2008 he won a stack of the ball but too far up the ground to do real damage, and 2009 he just had an absolute shocker. Still, that's SJ.

It's a nice question to be asking, though.

Mackie's performances in the big games have been very good. He was excellent in the three wins, my memory of the loss is a blur.
Harry Taylor being the other one who is a little underrated. Didn't quite have the same influence in 2011 as in 2009 - got shoved around a little bit by the bulk of Leigh Brown - but also took some very nice marks after half-time.
