4. Jack Darling
Darling too high.
10. Josh Hill

27. Brad Sheppard

Josh Hill ahead of any of those guys is just plain wrong. I know it's a matter of opinion, but it's wrong. Do you seriously think that Josh Hill is more important to our side than an AA-level fullback?

You also need to be a bit clearer in what the list is ranking. Importance to the side and 'ability' are vastly different concepts, and it's quite difficult to morph the two into one single list.

Well the first 25 or so players are ranked purely on ability since they're all equally important, whilst players like McGovern, Mcinnes and Brant Colledge are ranked on importance since we haven't seen them play a lot of footy.

Ok. So you think Hill is a better player than Mackenzie, Masten, Selwood and Hurn. They are ranked on ability, so it's not like you're overrating the need for a non-crumbing small forward. Instead, you're just massively overrating Hill himself.

That was really hard.

You've let your own opinion of the player, rather than their ability get in the way of posting a legitimate list.

Ash Smith (I'm not a huge fan), is not the worst player on our list, you clearly just don't like the guy.
How is he worse than 3 players who've never played for West Coast and a couple who have played 1 or 2 games and not shown much.
Le Cras isn't our 2nd best player, potentially top 5 or top 10.
Rosa at 25 is again showing bias you clearly just don't like him, in what way is Brennan better than him?
Just so many players out of place.

Not that there is any correct answer the question, but when it's so obviously wrong I don't know how you can expect a proper discussion.

Anyone with Priddis outside the top 10 is dreaming - he is above Gaff etc until we have someone else who can act as primary focal point for clearances.

Beetleguise

I'd rate players on importance and determine importance by impact.

Using such a method Gaff is more important than Sir Priddis.

I agree. I'd argue we could cope without Priddis in the midfield without losing out as i'd be confident that someone like Shuey, Selwood, Hutch or Welligham could take his place in the centre and help the mid unit be more effective as there'd be less 30 metres unsighted bombs forward. Therefore i wouldnt have him inside the top 10 or maybe even 20.

That's foresight.. you don't know that for sure. I am looking at runs on the board and like him or not, Priddis has those.
It's like saying Tunbridge is more important than Darling because take Darling out and he could take his place in the forward line and do just as good a job. You simply do not know.

Gaff was terrible last year, impact was close to zero at times; even Priddis provided more impact than him. You're only as good as your last season.
