9. Cousins - Again, too much time in the medical room.

!!!

Cuz had a tough year in '04, with an aggravated injury problem eventually seeing him miss 6 games- but given that he played the previous three consecutive years as captain without injury, do you think perhaps you're being a mite harsh?

Over the course of his career, I'd say Cousins would come close to being one of the most durable players going around- Since his debut he's played 185 of 205 possible games.

1. Hird - Inspiring and a team player.
2. Voss - See above except with dodgy leg. Also an enforcer and a protector of younger skinnier players.
3. Bell - When this guy stops running then I'll stop breathing. Grossly underrated as a captain in the east.
4. Roo - and what a player he is too. The greatest to ever play for the Crows.
5. Buckley - Sets by example but I feel that he isn't as good a captain as some of the others, despite his media comittments, he comes across as surly and not quite articulate.
6. Primus - Only down this far because of injury.
7. King - Obviously well respected and lifts the club however has spent too much time in the med. room to be a force over the last two years and sometimes doesn't quite throw his weight around enough (though that is changing).
8. West (assuming) - I assume it will be West because of his loyalty, dedication and work ethic. Other option would be Darcy.
9. Cousins - Again, too much time in the medical room.
10. Neitz - An enforcer at Melbourne who recieves the plaudits he deserves.
11. Johnson (assuming) - Johnson should get the role because he is more established at the club than Brown, and Richo spits more dummies than a baby. Is a great hard worker and a good representative for the club. Sure beats Wayne Campbell.
12. Koutafides - Again, not much time in the role and on the park, and not many thought he was fit for the role. It seems to have revolutionised his attitude though.
13. Simpson - Quiet but certainly a great player and a hard worker. His placing is more a reflection on the quality of the others.
14. Riewoldt - Only down this far because he is so young. Works hard, is exceptionally well spoken, courageous, wonderful young player and a franchise player not just for the Saints but for the whole damn AFL.
15. Maxfield - Not the Swan's best player but the team seems to have gelled together nicely under his leadership.
16. Vandenburg - How times change, from a player who completely disregarded the good of the team in favour of a personal boxing match. Works hard though, although admittedly there wasn't too much competition for the position at Hawthorn, Everitt and Hodge being disqualified by in/experience.

Sounds decent to me - hird/voss through it up for 1 n 2 definitely - im impressed you rated bell in there being as hes over in WA, the guy is the head of the AFLPA, is one of the smallest guys on the field, not the quickest but relentless never stops going and leads by example the whole way, part of the leadership at the roos before leaving.. how could you not rate him
