You seem to forget that i said not all rap is good. I could come and say all pop-rock is crap as "hey hey you you i don't like your girlfriend" is bad, but that is a very poor argument.

Of course some rap is bad, some rap is the worst music of all time - however some rap is the best music ever written. You have raised on other threads that you shouldn't judge the crappiness of Good Charlotte without listening to the entire album. You are writing off an entire genre of music and i doubt you have listened to every rap album - or have you?

Have you ever listened to Straight outta Compton? The Chronic? etc? etc? etc?
I doubt you have listened to three cheers for sweet revenge yet i have a feeling that you would still call mcr crap. Anyway some rappers do write some good songs, but i reckon they would be sung better by a rocker instead of rapper putting his hands up and down and ruining the song cause his voice is crap. Ofcourse im going to call rap crap, there is way way to many crap rappers, and i cant really see a big underground rap thing like alot rock does, The game, snoop dog, p diddy, kanye west, ja rule, jay z, MIMS, eminem and 50 cent are all rappers, and they all suck, so ofcourse im going to think that rap sucks. And the was these rappers carry on is stupid.

Also i once said that kanye wrote good lyrics, but now i think very differently. anyway as i was saying having good lyrics isnt enough, you have to be able to play a intrument IMO, cause most of the black people all sound the same to me.

I doubt that a failing sex life is something that Alex Turner has encountred, anyway Arctic monkeys are a perfect example, they sing about previous experiences in alot of songs, but they actually have really good lyrics, whereas a rapper would go straight to the point instead of being smart and using big words like nostolgia.

Are you serious?

Have you heard of Notorious B.I.G. He has the biggest vocab of any singer/artist ever. How about Nas, Dre or even 2pac? Not good lyrics, bah. Listen to Immortal Technique, Dizzee Rascal.
Akon is not rap. So I do not know why you are mentioning those lyrics.
And let me guess G.C. have awesome lyrics. Find me some gc lyrics and I can find you a rap song that is ten times as good. Emo bands will never touch rap lyrically.

Also i once said that kanye wrote good lyrics, but now i think very differently.

Dude, that is just stupid, just download their album, i dont get into albums until i listen to them a few times, you probably wont like the album, but you cant just judge something that you havent given a proper go.

The second quote of yours was the one i was refering to. THAT WAS FROM 12:09 TODAY! Are you saying you have completely changed your mind in 11 hours? Wow you must have a worthwhile opinion worth paying attention to if you can attack one poster on one flaw when disregarding the fact that you have the exact same flaw!

anyway as i was saying having good lyrics isnt enough, you have to be able to play a intrument IMO, cause most of the black people all sound the same to me.

What about people bands who are just singers? are they not true musicians? It is pretty hard to compare a rapper who is purely a singer to a band as the lead singer can 'just sing' while other people play the instruments.

Also, Rapper doesn't just mean a "black guy"....there a plenty of rappers/hip hop artists who are white, hispanic, etc. But just out of curiosity, in your humble opinion, do they - "black people" - also all look the same as well as sounding the same?

And a rapper will never beat a emo band with instruments. ok the next post will have the lyrics, and can you put up a rappers one.

Of course, as a rapper isn't a whole band. But a rap group on the other hand would be better, such as The Roots.

Ohh i take it you mean Eminem, yeh very good lyrics, mumys gonna buy you a mockingbird. pretty lame, his lyrics are pretty lame. But those singers in bands actually have a unique voice, whereas all black people sound the same, look at RnB all those girls like cassie, and ciara all sound the same.

2PAC LYRICS

"Changes"

[1]
Come on come on
I see no changes wake up in the morning and I ask myself
is life worth living should I blast myself?
I'm tired of bein' poor & even worse I'm black
my stomach hurts so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch
Cops give a damn about a negro
pull the trigger kill a fellow he's a hero
Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares
one less hungry mouth on the welfare
First ship 'em dope & let 'em deal the brothers
give 'em guns step back watch 'em kill each other
It's time to fight back that's what Huey said
2 shots in the dark now Huey's dead
I got love for my brother but we can never go nowhere
unless we share with each other
We gotta start makin' changes
learn to see me as a brother instead of 2 distant strangers
and that's how it's supposed to be
How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?
I'd love to go back to when we played as kids
but things changed, and that's the way it is

[Bridge w/ changing ad libs]
Come on come on
That's just the way it is
Things'll never be the same
That's just the way it is
aww yeah
[Repeat]

[2]
I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause both black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is

[Bridge]

[Talking:]
We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive.

[3]
And still I see no changes can't a brother get a little peace
It's war on the streets & the war in the Middle East
Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs
so the police can bother me
And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do
But now I'm back with the facts givin' it back to you
Don't let 'em jack you up, back you up,
crack you up and pimp smack you up
You gotta learn to hold ya own
they get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone
But tell the cops they can't touch this
I don't trust this when they try to rush I bust this
That's the sound of my tool you say it ain't cool
my mama didn't raise no fool
And as long as I stay black I gotta stay strapped
& I never get to lay back
'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs
some punk that I roughed up way back
comin' back after all these years
rat-tat-tat-tat-tat that's the way it is uhh

Again you are showing you ignorance and racial prejudices - Eminem is not the only white rapper, he is just the most well known. You continue to classify all rappers as "black people" and say that "they are all the same".....what about rock bands with "black people" as singers? Do they sound the same?

Also you ignored my question about do all "black people" look the same to you? - i am particularly interested in your answer to that one!

So your issue is not with rap music? You seem to be changing your mind.

This one is about suicide.

This world
This world is cold
But you don't
You don't have to go
You're feeling sad, you're feeling lonely, and no one seems to care
Your mother's gone and your father hits you
This pain you cannot bear

But we all bleed the same way as you do
And we all have the same things to go through

Hold on if you feel like letting go
Hold on it gets better than you know

Your days
You say they're way too long
And your nights
You can't sleep at all
Hold on
And you're not sure what you're waiting for, but you don't want to know more
And you're not sure what you're looking for, but you don't want to know more

But we all bleed the same way as you do
And we all have the same things to go through

Hold on if you feel like letting go
Hold on it gets better than you know
Don't stop looking, you're one step closer
Don't stop searching, it's not over
Hold on

What are you looking for?
What are you waiting for?
Do you know what you're doing to me?
Go ahead...What are you waiting for?

Hold on if you feel like letting go
Hold on it gets better than you know
Don't stop looking, you're one step closer
Don't stop searching, it's not over
Hold on if you feel like letting go
Hold on it gets better than you know
Hold on

This is one is also called change.

I am lost in the see-thru
I think you lost yourself too
Throughout all of this confusion
I hope I somehow get to you
I practiced all the things I'd say
To tell you how I feel
And when I finally get my chance
It all seems so surreal
Cause from the first time I saw you
I only thought about you
I didn't know you
I wanted to hold on to
The things you'd never say to me

Cause you said
You can't change the way you feel
(I could never do that, I could never do that)
But you can't tell me this ain't real
Cause this is real
(And you would see right through that)
In the end it's all I've got
(So I would hold onto that)
So I'm gonna hold on
On and on and on and on
On and on and on and on and on and on and on

And now you've got me watching your eyes
(Watching just to see, watching just to see)
You've got me waiting just to see
(If you'll ever look at me)
If it goes away it never will
(Will it ever go? Will it ever go my way?)
Your eyes are watching me
Oh
And now you've got me thinking 'bout
The first time that I met you
Standing in a crowded room
But I could only see you
And I hope my words will get through
Cause now I can't forget you
I wanna tell you
If only I could reach you
And make you feel this way

What is so bad about me calling most rappers bad, so what they are black, im not being racists, racist is those black rappers that always say the word ****** in their songs, so if they say it, it shouldnt be problem for anyone else to say it. No not all black people look like each other, but alot do, but there is nothing wrong with that.

Oh god.

Interesting and you find these lyrics better then the song I listed above?
Its a matter of opinion, we will leave it at that, because i clearly find rap lyircs to be absurd and stupid and you feel the same about the music i like.

So you find the above song absurd as it deals with racial discrimination, what the black community has to deal with each day, and the acceptance of black people in America. Absurd.

What is so bad about me calling most rappers bad
It is a baseless generalisation! You have no evidence or reliable information to base it on. What is so wrong with people who hate GC saying they hate them? You get your panties in a knot in 2 seconds whenever someone gives them the slightest knock!

THEY ARE NOT ALL BLACK! THEY ARE MULTICULTURAL LIKE MOST ARTISTS! Even though there is a larger percentage of african american rappers, that does not mean that they are ALL BLACK. You would assume that seeing as it is a music genre that took off in those communities it is not surprising they still make up a large percentage. You ARE being very prejudiced - saying "all black people sound the same" is highly racist!

I am not going to start an indepth debate on the "n-word" with you as obviously you are too simple minded and immature to understand the basics of the issue at hand. If someone is short, 9/10 that person will start using 'short jokes' about themselves as a way of taking back the power.

deeman just because you think that something is bad dosent make it bad. remember, you are one of the worst posters in bigfooty history and most of your opinions are disgusting.

wow deeman and you acually disputed this call. going by some of the things that you have recently posted, 'all black people look the same' 'all black people sound the same' i'd think it was a pretty fair statement by myself

We got the shit, mac tight, brass knuckles and flashlights
The heaters in the two-seaters, with two midas
Senoritas, kiss rings when you meet us
P-diddy run the city, show no pity
Im the witty one, franks the crook from the brook
Matty broke the neck of your coke connect
No respect squeeze off til all yall diminish
Shootouts for twenty minutes, until we finish
Venice took the loot, escaped, in the coupe
Break bread, with the kiss, peniro, sheek louch
Black rob joined the mob, it aint no replacin him
****** step up, with just mase and em
Placin them in funerals, criminals turned aroused
The brick city, nobody come off like p-diddy
Business wise, I play men
Hide money on the island cayman, yall just betray men
You screamin, I position, competition
Nother day in the life of the comission

Notorious BIG > Dee Dee

But his songs talk about change as well, and they're unique and don't sound the same. So they have to be better.

Hey deeman, not all rap is about what you say its about. As people have already suggested earlier, a lot of 2pac songs highlight social inequality and racial discrimination.

On a lighter note there are also numerous songs about basketball:

I hoop with the best of them swooped up the chest of them
dunked on a bunch, caught alley-oops on the rest of them
I got the lean on the "J" now
it really don't matter if we play in arenas or playgrounds
throw it around the back so it look fly when I pass
just to avoid the block go high off the glass
I'm killing them out there they gon' have to bring caskets
this all I hear after the baskets *swoosh*
but I ain't even warm up
and still pull from where it counts for 3 points and leave the form up
you must be insane if you give me the,
lane or perimeter, the crossover sprain every limb on ya
I never woulda, ever coulda
thought I could come off the baseline and jump over seven-footers
soon as you step out the locker room you now can see
how live it get in 2003

I think Fabolous is rapping about a video game there but still the rhyme scheme is pretty decent on that one :D.

Here's some lyrics (and the sickest of flows) for you all
