i cant really see a big underground rap thing like alot rock does

are you kidding me? rap (along with metal and hardcore) has by far one of the most extensive underground scenes there is. it's a genre based on promoting solidarity, whether it's just between gang members, the entire african american race, or just people with the same political ideals. it would be extremely naive to think that there's no underground scene, rap lends itself even more heavily to underground ideals than the hardcore scene.

Amost of the black people all sound the same to me.

I have about 50-60 albums of rock/alternative stuff and 2 Public Enemy albums, which I really like, and you obviously havent listened to. Rap is the modern day poetry and it has some of the best themes/storylines in music.
