Not bad, a lot of money spent in the mids.
The only worry here is how frustrated will you get if like last year Judd consistently outscores Murphy and Swan consistently outscores Pendles and then Cross consistently outscores Boyd. It might not be worth the money saved if this is the case.

Remember to swap Rioli/Muzunga in the mids for Prestia come Round 6 also

Petrie will be sitting idel for quite some time.
Hodge under and injury cloud and you could probably do with an upgrade of at least one Pendles/Murphy/bartel to Swan/Judd/Selwood - My pick of the bunch being Selwood.
Mckernan starting is a worry too.

I am always hesitant on Harvey because of his age, in saying that he always proves me wrong. At 33(?) he's got to slow down eventually though. The man is a freak though. I tossed up between him and Pav and went with Pav.

Your obviously new to this so i apologise if im a little rough. lots of work needed so lets see if i can get ya on the right path.

Backs ok.

Mids could be much much better, Callinan is injured. Don't even know Carter, Schnieder or Irons are more of a chance of getting a game at that price. Bennell for Harris frees up 58K.

Rucks, Sandi good, Roughhead BAD. downgrade Tippett for Z.Smith, Frees up another 8K.

Forwards, Oh dear. Downgrade hall to Mzungu Frees up 278K. Deboer is way too much to leave on the bench, swap for Richardson frees up 167K. So is Rohan, Swap for Matera, or like frees up 180K. Griffiths to I.Smith frees up anothe 28K.

Now use the 796K you've just freed up to fix Roughhead, Pettard. Some like stanton, dangerfield, o'keefe and hayes but i don't personally and with all the extra cash you now have i think their worth an upgrade.

Before you change your team, have a look through some other teams, might give you an idea of what to look for.

Mids - Cant bag at all
Rucks - Maybe worth punting on Petrie instead of an aging Cox who will even with Nic Nat playing ruck rover will start losing minutes.
Forwards - Higgins - Cheap but so so injury prone, and goodes aging? but worth risk i suppose

Yeah, I don't mind them. Remember with Grimes you're taking a decent risk.
Selwood looks to be a safer option than the underdone Hodge and Harvey is up and going so should score the same.

Good looking team imo, Havent heard alot about Coad will he get regular games? Everything i've heard about Darling is that he's a jet but already showing up to training late and has a little bit of a party boy rep so will he get on the park consistently enough to warrant him sarting on the ground? Instead of milling over players I set a few hard rules:
1. Always get good rucks from the word go, that is, 2 of the top 5. Ruck is a position where if you have a weaker player, he get smashed, and become other side's gain. It pays to be smash'n instead of smashed week-in, week-out. Unfortunately I cannot afford Sandiland for now but I will get him on the first rookie harvest.

2. Secure the ultra premiums in key positions other than midfield - in which there are many alternatives and arguably better value.

3. Get value (subjective) players for the premiums - that's between the 400k-500k range rather than 500k + range.

4. Always pick 100k rookie over 180k rookie. The cost/reward skews towards cheaper rookies especially this year with more players to share the pie. And always pick one mature age rookies if possible in each position on the bench.

5. Skip the 200k players, that is A Krakour, A Otten etc for the same reason as 4. Value lies elsewhere.

6. Avoided most of the ~500k 30+ 'premiums' such as Pav, O'keefe, Goodes, Harvey etc, I can trade for them in round 3 but at this stage I want to start the season with players on the up curve rather than down.

7. Only one player form each club in the starting line up in each position, and no more than 3 players from the same club in the whole team. Only exception being GC with 4 but most are bench players.

So I ended up with...5 premiums in each of back/mid/forward, 2 starting premiums in ruck and rest being rookies. My back is very solid, Mids are value picks, Ruck is blue collar, and Forward is a bit risky (though forward this year is tough, and I opted for young players rather than point 6 players above)

The hard part's always how to pick the 200k-300k player that's going to turn into an 400k player by round 10. I would only trade those you mentioned (except burgoyne and mcglynn) to 300k players but how can I be sure? Otherwise I'm just be trading sideways, and 1. there are plenty of 'value' midfield in that price range, and 2. for the forwards I'd have to break my rule no6 and get Pav(too many new options in freo team)/Goodes(positional uncertainty)/Harvey(slow recovery from injuries) etc on the other side of 30, whilst great in past seasons, have been inconsistent recently and may be on the downward spiral.

I'll have a crack...

If you can afford it swap Gibbs for Gilbee, really dont like Gilbee as a pick. Can't take a tag and no longer that elite 100+ scorer we saw in past years.

Need a stronger premium in the mids, Goodes won't cut it. Look to upgrade him to a Selwood, Montagna etc. MPP is not worth sacrificing 15 points a game.

Gaff - Get him out now please. Especially if you plan him being on the ground.

Rucks and Forwards look good! Although not 100% sold on Didak's durability.
