I was still a youngster when most of these guys were in their prime, so I don't really remember what they were like as players. Obviously I know bits and pieces and have seen them play a little bit, but it was a long time ago and I was fairly young.

Maybe even give us a current day player that they are comparable to.

Glenn Lovett

Brett Lovett

Matthew Febey

Steven Febey

Paul Prymke

Andrew Obst

Danny Hughes

Andy Lovell

Glenn Lovett = Cameron Bruce

Brett Lovett = Daniel Bell with HARDNESS

Matthew Febey = Steven Febey (actually I would say Clint Bartram)

Steven Febey = Matthew Febey

Paul Prymke = Colin Garland

Andrew Obst = Cale Morton

Danny Hughes = Jared Rivers

Andy Lovell = Matthew Whelan

Wasn't Andy Lovell a small forward?

And I always thought that Glenn Lovett was a nuggety type, rather than a Cameron Bruce type?

Indeed he was - more of an onballer - but he was a good tagger. Same physique as Wheels. However had more ability to smash through the snatch hanging around the club.

Glenn Lovett was silky smooth. Chromedome was a ____ing underrated.

Oh my, how dare you? Paul Prymke was avital cog in our backline, and 10 times the player Garland will ever be. If only he were still playing...(sigh)

Can't forget the day he and Jako both kicked 8 and we massacred Richmond. Mainly because a bird shat on me in the bottom deck of the old Ponsford, but the game was pretty good too.

Glenn Lovett=Nathan Jones but could hit a target and kick goals

Brett Lovett=Thats a hard one, Maybe Bell

Matthew Febey=Another hard one???Junior but half as good

Steven Febey=Good honest footballer....... Dunno we dont have many of them at the moment

Paul Prymke,Rivers but much bigger

Andrew Obst=Cam Bruce,Classy Wingman/Halfback

Danny Hughes=Chopper but bigger and much better

Andy Lovell=Forward pocket/rover version of Wheels

Glenn Lovett - Nathan jones not only do they look they same they played very similar tough in and under.

Brett Lovett - rugged and tough defender

Matthew Febey - Brad green good pace long left foot kick not very physcial

Steven Febey - Daniel Bell has more speed than febey not as reliable, but they both play/played similar roles in the backline.

Paul Prymke - Rivers its a shame Prymke was a gun but was struck down by injuries hopefully rivers does not go the same way.

Andrew Obst - skillful winger

Danny Hughes - didnt we have a danny hughes on the list last year??

Andy Lovell - brock maclean type??? very tough and in an under.

Pretty good comparisons IMO.I would have to disagree with Prymke and Garland.Prymke could actually play a little bit.

Also Danny Hughes was a bigger, stronger, better(but slower) version of Carroll. He was the one who could easily match up on the Big forward. He occasionally chopped out in the ruck.He was a type of player the Dees sadly lack at the moment.

I also think Morton will end up a far better player than Andrew Obst who was a good player in his own right.Morton will be the goods!

Glenn Lovett- A half back/wingman that turned into a very good on-baller. Didnt have a long career but would be rated as good as Bruce.

Brett Lovett- Very smooth, low centre of gravity midfielder. Exceptional talent.

Matthew Febey- Hard running wingman, solid player.

Steven Febey- Really good half back flanker/wingman. At his best in our best 6-12.

Paul Prymke- Good solid tall backman, played some good games on Kernahan. Usually took the 3rd tall though.

Andrew Obst-Very hard working run with onballer who could also win his own ball.

Danny Hughes-Hard old fashioned full back.

Andy Lovell- Talented small forward, rover. Not overly quick but skilled.
