We will have to agree to disagree. I don’t rate him at all and would delist. Where do you think he could offer more?

He is a midfielder ... at a PINCH HFF ....

I thought that the first holding the ball on SPS would easily win worst decision of the day but the non paid trip against Ed at the end just beggars belief. No impact on the game but just mind boggling that a paid official can miss that.

For me it was the no HTB on Ryan or Nic Nat in our goal square. Nic Nat one was worse.

I can Gaureentee you that if Scott, Hardwick or Hinkley teams got screwed by the umpires like we did today they would of said something in there press conference

To what end? get a dead at bounce the next week and screw the rule for the next 12 months?

I like Cuners but I do fear he's going to be that sort of player who teases with a BOG type performance once every 4-6 weeks and is reasonably underwhelming the rest of the time.

Welcome back Fish. I didn't see the umpiring the same way as many on here - I saw plenty that should have been paid against us that were let go, so happy to call the umpiring relatively even (disclaimer - haven't seen the actual free kick stats, just my impression).

Liked what someone said earlier in the thread - we showed what we can do but yet again couldn't sustain it for long enough. Looked like we did a reasonable job against NicNat, Kennedy was mostly quiet but hurt us at important moments.

Who was on Liam Ryan, thought he was pretty quiet.

I thought you guys were good today. You should be proud of your side.
No McGovern, no McKay, obviously no Charlie, Jack Martin injured early. Basically the entire forward line missing, against the premiership favourites at their fortress, and you pushed them really hard for most of the day. We’ve had our own run of injuries at GWS over the years.

I could see how you might be frustrated though. It would tough to watch week after week,

1. A coach who sits back and pretty much just hopes his team will win.

2. A real stalwart and warrior like Murphy just hanging in way too long. It would hurt to see such a great club person become a liability.

3. A captain and top five player in the league, like Cripps, unable to do the one thing he built his reputation on. And be the opposite of whatever “clutch” is.

4. Be able to predict, like watching a replay of a game you’ve already watched, what will happen, and how you will lose, when you look like winning.

But I think you have a lot to look forward to. This is a talented side. You get some key players back from injury, pick up one or two guns at the trade table, and find a coach who can coach, and you’ll be very hard to stop and may even create a genuine dynasty.
Why are you as a Carlton supporter writing a post as if you are a west coast suppotter?

Having 5 of your best 6 forwards doesnt help at all. Especially when we didnt take many marks inside 50. my honest opinion is we make top 4 next year. Just get plowman out of the backline please. Cant believe he got outrun by Allen, who is as slow as my mother. If that game is at the MCG next year we win that game, with a healthy side ofc. No charlie, no JSOS, no McKay, basically no martin, no cunners, no kemp, no dow, no lob, no newman, no marchy, no philp, no Mcgovern. All these blokes are best 22 in our future and yet none of them played. Lost to weagles by 4 goals up there. I see lots of positives from this game. The Pitt can go btw i rate tdk a lot higher. Has a much higher ceiling and we did better in the midfield when he was there.

Hearing a lot of good things about Polson at Half Back, wouldn't mind seeing him get a go. But Sammo probably wasnt bad enough to get dropped today.

Good chance Jack Martin wont play next week, so theres going to be a spot up for grabs.
I have kept the faith in SPS but his biggest asset in the backline was his composure. That is now gone with his confidence. I can’t really trust him. He either needs a rest or put somewhere else.

Until today, I have never left early/stopped watching a game early when the game was still in dispute. I turned off today after the second SPS holding the ball decision. Seriously, what is the point of watching this game when the playing field is so uneven? I have put my love of the club over all of the rubbish the AFL have dished up over the years, but I can't abide this crap any more. Over forty years of devoted support, but I refuse to provide any further support to the AFL until they fix the game. At the moment, it has the credibility of the WWE as a contest

Happy with TDK, welcome back Fish.

Not as bad as it could have been given we played an in-form side on their own patch.

We need to learn how to stop the opposition when they are on a roll, otherwise we are close.
This. Exactly. We need to work out how to stop opposition momentum. I think we have a lot of the other pieces.

Thoughts

-Good effort overall
-None of Harry, Mcgov or Charlie, lost Martin early, do that to any side and the forward line doesn't work
-Not sure how long we can persist with Murhys defensive efforts
-I am starting to see why everyone loves Plowman
-TDK was good
-Williamson continues to build
-Setters and Kennedy tease but need to put full games together, dunno is both of them is the future

Didn't expect to win, but still don't understand why Teague ignored what was working, tempo, hard tag on Kelly, TDK in the ruck, just killed the momentum after half time.

Gibbo was poor, Cottrell is a keep, so is TDK. Murph was good, so too Jones. Cripps and Doc are struggling. Weits was good, given the service to Kennedy

Beyond belief why SPS is still at HB

Setters on the up and Fisher was one touch after being out for a while

WC just a well balanced side
WC are essentially our blueprint

Lost because of another 30 point opposition run-on during a 5-10 minute period in the third. We seriously need to work on that.
Yeah we have to work on slowing the game down when the opposition have a run on.

Poor kid is being played out of position. Is and always has been a mid, maybe some time Wing/HFF.

With that said, if they're going to insist on playing him in defense, i'd rather see someone else.

Felt we lost that in the box during the third quarter. Probably has been mentioned but playing Pitt in the square against NN absolutely turned the game, thought the king had his measure. Could’ve put a hard tag on Kelly too.

Getting very tired of these 6 goal swings but hopefully we lose that with maturity. The big 3 + Jack and Cuners can’t come back quick enough. Need to learn to pile on scoreboard pressure when we have the run of play.

Fisher, TDK, Jones, Walsh, Cottrell and Kennedy my favourites from today.
