If there is anyone who seriously believes we shouldn't take a mid with our first three picks you need to reassess. Our midfield is substandard. We desperately need a high quality midfield brigade

Some positives to take out of the first half. Third quarter was so disappointing though, how can we fall away so badly to allow a team with similar experience dominate in that fashion?

Can't just blame that on Graham and Kerridge.

Thoroughly beaten by the better team on the day.

Disappointing given the evenness of the teams named, carrying many passengers who aren't willing to play team football which simply cannot be tolerated at this stage of the rebuild.

Third quarter was as close to the worst we have played all year.

Graham, Kerridge are delisted, on the flip side other guys on the fringe like Lamb, Rowe were solid citizens.

Future is there. Paddy dow is a star in the making. Charlie is already there and mackay has shut his doubters up with a good string of games. 2018 is not a write off but im not gonna look back on it either

Big H and Charlie tried hard all day.

Lobbe was immense. Turned out to be really lucky that we drafted him last year with Phillips and Kruezer going down.

Also thought that Lamb played well, didn't go a lot wrong. Would be surprised if he didn't get another year.

Kerridge, Polson and Graham should never put the boots on again. Absolutely woeful.

Wasn’t tactical. It was simply effort. Players cheating out the back and not running back when we turned it over etc.

I don't like admitting it but i now seriously dislike watching my football team play.

On top of the game i the 1st half, but let ourselves down badly in the second.

Lots to like from the young players. More good signs

Bottom line is missing a lot of good players
Young players who can't yet compete for 4 quarters
A group of players that won't be around next year and
several players who are playing injured or underdone.

To travel with that and have a 5 goal loss is bareable. So much to look forward to.

I’m more pissed about Harry’s unpaid mark than the loss. That was a ripper grab.

Well if you ever wanted a game that demonstrates where we are at right now, this was it.

First half the youngsters did their job, and because they were turning it on we were actually playing well and in front.

But because our youngsters don’t yet have an afl tank, they slowed right down in the second half.
And that was the issue, because in a team game of 18+4 players everyone needs to contribute, and unfortunately for us when the youngsters get tired after doing their job in the first half and the older players take over in the second half, the mistakes, skill errors and dumb decisions are increased exponentially and we look like a rabble.

So the silver lining is when we replace the older guys at the end of the year, we shojkd hopefully be able to play 4 quarters with different players that can do their part for the team when the youngsters tire out
