Good to see him and Steele named, both deserved it, and Goldsack deserves another crack soon.

Pressure on Toovey and Wellingham to hold their spot if you look at the extended interchange.

so most likely unchanged

I can handle that

Sidebottom will be playing, Mick hinted that this week so someone will be coming out. I think Wellingham might be in the VFL this week.

That's bullshit.

Well Malthouse, you better not bring him in for finals then. If he's out, then he's out.
why because you are wrong?

bringing him against a running squad like the dogs was lunacy. Rocca can still play apart but the dogs was the wrong choice

That would be harsh very harsh. I can see it happening and would be ok with it but very harsh

The only players I can see Rocca replacing if they are injured is... Fraser, Wood or Anthony.

Add Cloke to that list and you have the set, Rocca only plays if one of those gets injured/suspended.

and our luck in finals its a massive possibility

Not because I'm wrong. Because I wanted him to play.

But if you're not going ot give him a chance in the Seniors BEFORE finals, you can't risk playing him straight in the finals without a 'dress rehearsal'. THAT would be lunacy.

Clearly he's not in MM's plans, which is fine, but my concern now, is that he is. He shouldn't be.

He needed time in the seniors BEFORE finals if he was going to figure in our September plans.

He is a 200 game veteran, knows his body, knows how to play finals

If he is needed he will step up and perform accordingly. If we played a st.kilda or adelaide this week that are not a team of fleet footed pygmys he would be a chance against the dogs never

I wouldn't have Rocca replace Cloke.

Rocca can play as the 3rd tall and do 5-10min ruck per qtr (Fraser/Wood) or play as the deep forward (Anthony). I don't think Rocca can be the work-horse CHF like Cloke is. I'd have Dawes replace Cloke.

No match-up for Leeroy Brown this week. Presti can take Minson when he plays forward or Hahn when Minson has a run on-ball. I'd replace Leeroy with Goldie, who usually plays well against Dogs. He's got the mobility to go with Hahn.

Horses for courses. Leeroy will be needed for Hawkins/Mooney or Kosi -just not this week.

No other changes for me.

There'll be a minimum of changes. I'm not averse to J-Mac and especially Rusty getting a run, but they shouldn't necessarily keep their spot for the first final. Just keeping the run in the legs of our midfielders.

Rocca can't come back in. I'll buy a jersey for his first NFL club in 2010. I love you Pebs, but time and tide wait for no man.

Good and sensible selections. :thumbsu:

x2.

Leigh Brown would miss for mine though. There is no matchup for him and we don't need him as a backup ruckman anymore, nor a swing forward with Cloke, Anthony and Fraser all up there.
Maxwell, Presti and Harry could cover the talls for mine, I'd bring in another small to make sure we keep up with the Doggies run.

Should be a cracker, can't see us giving up the 3rd spot though, the total will surely be <20 either way... I'm confident it will be our way.

Turn up in force boys and girls, it is our home game, gotta blow the top of the dome and keep this steam up into the finals :thumbsu:
Can't wait!

Correct decision was made in regards to Rocca.

Also, correct extended bench named.

Rusty on form.

Goldy been good too.

Very impressed that J-Mac has made it back even if it is as an emergency. Did not think he would be ready in terms of match fitness and be physically hardened due to injury. Credit to him and the coaching/conditioning staff at the club.

Gee, ladies and gentlemen, this could be the year. We are in the best shape ever.

Yep, everyone get to Docklands at 4.40 on Sunday, we need to get behind the boys in our "home" game at the Bulldogs home ground.

A win and we just keeping building momentum, while a loss would give the dogs more confidence then it would give us worries.

I want a win, and can see Goldsack, McCarthy and Sidebottom all playing this week, this is how;

* Goldsack for L.Brown;
* Sidebottom for Wellingham
* J - Mac for either Medhurst, O'bree or Pendlebury (all have niggling injuries)
