What a fantastic performance from everyone! Our pressure and intent was the best its been all year and there is no way we would have won that game unless it was. Swan was back to his devastating best. Had a chuckle at his belly rub after his third goal. I thought we had much more of the play and really failed to capitalise on our opportunities. Goldsack and Sinclair were fantastic in their defensive application today but lacked hurt factor around goals. As did the team collectively. Johnson proved just how important he is to us, he is just so penetrating with his running and kicking game. He also kept Jetta quiet when he was looking dangerous. Those who wrote Jolly off spoke too soon. Wellingham and Blair are doing a good job of stepping into the Ball void. Overall we are executing the switch a lot more efficiently and the game plan appears to be gelling much more. Considering how much of our best 22 are out to defeat an impressive and undefeated Essendon unit is just a great effort. Really stoked with our performance.

Agree with everything mate. Top game, Swan on song. Pendles, Wellingham, Johnson, Beams and Jolly all killed it. Sinclair played his best to date, just needs to sharpen up disposal.

The last minute and a half was like watching our defense applying the same amount of pressure we against st Kilda in the final stages of the drawn grand final, amazing effort from everybody.

I new it was our day when the essendon player ran in 25 m out directly in font and sprayed it to the right, it was destiny :D

What a difference a win makes. He made a lot of mistakes and could have cost us the game but Sinclair deserves to stay in. He got the ball enough to show he can play a roll this year. May be there is no room for him when Didak comes back but if he can get his finishing right he could be good for us.

We lose and his head would be on a stick.

Congrats guys.

I am gutted and hurt, but coming off a bruising game with carlton, being hibberd down for almost all match and getting behind on the scoreboard, i am stoked with the signs from us.

I try to hate collingwood like i hate carlton, but the truth is, there is some respect for you guys.

Well done.

I really dislike when players get criticised for 1 passage of play and the rest of their game gets ignored. I thought Sinclair was fantastic today, his pressure all day would've really pleased Bucks and I thought it would've pleased many of our supporters (obviously not reading some posts). +1 for Seedsman too, although he did run out of legs hence being subbed.

Sinclair had good pressure just needs to convert that pressure into accuracy and stability. Could have kicked 2 instead of 0.2 and could have been way more efficent but hey another pre season maybe a bit of muscles in his arms and he may be something

^^^^^^^^
What Quickster said.

1 Fasolo: I thought he was only OK Fas
5 Maxwell: Why do so many underrate his value to our team? He's a general down there
6 Goldsack: Good defensive pressure but a bit fumbly again
8 O'Brien: Liked his game. We have a very nice unit in our back 6.
9 Clarke: Fantastic job on Stanton. I thought he had more then 1 tackle
10 Pendlebury: Gun. Pure quality with someone hanging off his arse who is no slouch
11 Blair: Tough little bugger who snicked the match winner. Big part of the forward pressure
16 Brown: I would have sworn he hasn't missed a agme let alone 18 months. Positioning was fantastic. Easily beat possibly the most inform forward of the comp.
17 Beams: Picked up Ballys slack then some. 10 inside 50s. Quality toughness
18 Jolly: Who said he was finished??Good game. Tired late as you'd expect playing against 2 rucks
21 Wellingham: His defensive pressure across half forward was excellent. Team high 8 tackles. I don't think he missed a tackle. Really like this role for Wellers.
22 Sidebottom: 1 of the BOG in 1st quarter. Works both ways hard. Has gone to a new level
23 Keefe: Blanketed Ryder as a forward. Another top game for Keefey George.
26 Johnson: His rebound was excellent and stopped Jetta/Davey when he was on them. Underrated by many. Very important player for the gut running
27 Buckley: Thought he was OK today B2
28 Sinclair: Look he butchered a couple of fairly simple chances but attack on the ball is fantastic. Many times Essendon had numbers in the forward half and he dived in causing a ball up instead of an easy take away. You gotta love his intent.
31 Dawes: Not sure where he's at. Missed a bunny and then in the space of a few minutes, dropped a pud 30m out and then kicked a 20m pass over Blairs head to an unmarked Heppell deep in our F50.
32 Cloke: 7 marks and 3 goals a very good return considering he was playing on 2 blokes for most of the day.
34 Toovey: He's a bloody good defender. Key ingredient of our back 6
36 Swan: One of the best games I've seen him play. Outstanding
37 Ugle: I liked the look of him and would play him again.
40 Seedsman: Found the going a little tougher today. He be better for the run. He needs to continue to build that tank and put on some KGs as you'd expect.

Our defensive pressure and actually sticking tackles was a highlight. Blew some easy chances early on and should have had the game in the bag far earlier.

You guys played a better game of football and you deserved the win, but i do have to say at the end that ball went out of bounds I rewinded it 20+ times and the ball was clearly out but I guess that stuff happens, well done pies.

Plenty of positives to take out of the game. It was the stars who set the tone early and we had contributions from everyone throughout the game.

Really happy to have Brown back, back to ominous form too.
Great effort from Jolly, really battled hard all day.

Maxy and Johnno back in good form after a couple of games too which is great.

I'm looking foward to watching the replay, especially the last quarter. It all seemes like a blur but watching it again you get to relieve the important moments like desperate tacking and spoiling that wom us the game.

One moment that does stick out was the dropped mark by I think Crameri which would have almost given him a set shot for the game. Keefe came in just at the last second to put on some pressure that might've made the difference. I though Toovey was immense today and one of his best games imo. Just pressure efforts followed by more desperation. Beams also fantastic.

How happy am I that Nathan Brown is back. It's just like Rambo was in a coma but woke up shovelling away as though he never went down.

Such a great all-round perfomance, hard to find a worst on ground. Great pressure from Sinc and was still required end of game when pace could have made the difference.

Jolly. What a manful performance.

Keeffe. How ****ing good was his defensive pressure? Not just getting in front, but his shepperding and body-work for team mates. So Exciting.

Clarke absolutely blanketing Stanton. BJ on Jetta.

Aah, I could just go on all night. No weak links.

Great contest and to all the flogs out there who want to "share this day" among other clubs: get ****ed.

Dane Swan was outstanding and was clearly the difference between the two sides.

Can someone save me some work and just tell me when the last time we beat you lot was?

Thanks:)

It amazes me how Sinclair gets hated on. Sure, he missed two goals on the run, but, he does the hard things. Such as smothering, getting contested posessions and putting pressure on the ball carrier.

Dawes stepped up, he was contesting the ball well, and set up opportunities. The youngsters all had their best games. I was happy with Ugle, he looked dangerous near goal.

Beams and Sidebottom are really stepping up in the absence of Ball and Thomas.

You blokes deserved to win by 5 goals.

A very good win considering your exclusions.

If you think it was only one passage of play where Sinclair lacked hurt factor you weren't watching close enough. I've criticised Sinclair plenty but i've been very very positive regarding his defensive application in this game. It was top notch. You have to give Sinclair credit for the good if you are going to cane him for the bad. As much as he failed to hit the score board despite multiple opportunities, his tenacity and commitment to the contest definitely brought other players into the game and was a big part of the victory.

Great Win and This could set our Season up and get the team to play for together.

Swan was BOG by a Mile.

Dawes and Sinclair was our Worst and both could be in Trouble keeping there Spots.

Now a Long Break to Doggies games @ Ethiad Dump

Well done nate brown.. all class u star.

On a negative seedsmen and sinclair were terrible today, need to be dropped and neither are afl standard... age is no excuse anymore they're not teenagers. Thats the cold hard truth. Ugle deserves another game. Dawes is so fustraiting at the moment...

Clarke was sensational as a tagger, perhaps found a new role. The usual suspects were amazing, and we still got a lot to come back. Seedsmen Sinclair have to be dropped. Seedsmen didnt have an opponent 90% of the game and had 0 impact, his opponent was probably killing us and he had no accountability. Joyous win, but just some perspective to keep people grounded.

If Sinclair Kicked those 2 Running Goal as he Should have we would of Won Easily but as he normallly does he Stuffs it Up.

Sidebottom was Brillant but I was not sold on Beams Game

I loved that the swarm is back.
It was great to see such an inspirational return by Rambo. Went hard at the contests and looks to have lost no confidence. And as much as everyone bangs on about the speed of the game and how it can leave you behind in the blink of an eye, it seems like Browny will slot straight back in. So happy about his match.
On the neg's, I can't wait for Dids, Heater et al to come back in. We will not have a Premiership season with guys like Seedsman and Sinclair playing regular football. I felt bad for Ugle being thrown into the match at the time he was. Matches like the ANZAC clash have a lot of emotion involved, and I think it would be hard to get the feel for the game at such a late stage. Case in point was that heart in mouth moment, he either couldn't hear his mates, or was not up to the tempo of the match, both probably exacerbated by him having just walked onto the field.

Subs rule gets a big  from me. Novelty bullshit. Can't wait to see the back of it.

So much to like in that game, great to see the boys really playing well together. I though our backline was fantastic, jeez how good was brown in his first game back, absolutely smashed arguably the most in form forward in the league in Crameri today. Marty Clarke is getting better and better every week, as in Keefe who has impressed me immensely.

Keefe is a perfect option for people to stop hating on Sinclair, i though he was a spud last year, but with time and games under his belt he is quickly becoming a fantastic player in our side.

To be honest it hurt to see Sinclair miss that goal at the end, but god i thought he was good today, he provides so much pace and pressure in our forward half, he led our team with 9 tackles which is something to say about the kid. He is getting his hands on the ball, and his use today was a hell of a lot better. He is providing more danger up there than Fasolo is IMO. The hating has to stop, what do we want to see from our kids, Improvement, and he is improving every game. Was very happy with him today. I think people are going into these games waiting for him to screw up something to reassure themselves that he isn't any good. I believe he shut you all up today.

Swan, nothing can be said,
