Dont think Nick Holland would encourage the young players at Riddell much, however,he'd be a good coach for Macedon.
Fair point Bombers... Could possibly have a bigger impact at Macedon.. The younger kids at Riddell are going to be great young players, but would they get a run in the ones with Holland?

why dont you forget about it roge let it go and move on all of you stop whinging about who said what and when it's like a school yard in this thread at the moment. who is going to run up to the teacher and tell them that they were picking on you. grow up all of you. if there is no gossip dont say anything. i've always beleived if you have nothing nice to say then dont say anything at all.
Didnt I just say I was over it... :p

Probably Crotty would, not sure of any of the other younger ones though.

So what you are saying is that it is ok for Sims to abuse opposition’s player while he is a spectator but it is not ok for the same opposition spectators to the same to him.
His club was playing in the game.He doesn't follow around players from other clubs shouting abuse at them when he is not involved in the game.

Agree to disagree on this one.Apologies to everyone else for derailing the thread.

Haven't been harsh on the kid at all said never denied his abilities as a sportsman. But the most important part of being successful on the sporting field is having the right temperant to handle whatever gets thrown at you. I wasn't singling out young Hede, more making a general point to young blokes saying that I played with some of the best junior players who later found out a few home truth's when they hit open age thats all.

Obviously you and vantheman are good mates of young Trav, so all your doing is bringing Trav's name to the attention of the other RDFL clubs by pumping him up. If he get's thru his first year of open age football by playing regular seniors that will be an achievement in itself, then watch him use that experience in the years following.

hede probably wont play in the RDFL anyway, he wont have the physical build to, and he wont want to play with old slow men. he has ressived an invite to cobourg anyway. if he plays anywhere he will play in an u19s comp.

yeah totally agree

Lets talk about the positives in the rdfl not the negatives

there is nothing positive about the RDFL, it is a s**t league, that is why all the good clubs around the area have moved into different leagues. the negatives are talked about because that is all they can talk about, really

well the fact that a huge amount of talented youngsters are all coming through the ranks may be one factor. Go to your own leagues forum. You are not wanted here.

Something must be going right, seeing as though this is a pretty popular thread, if you dont like anything about the RDFL, then dont talk about it... Or involve yourself in it... Thanks....

"S**t" league Huh?,then why did Broadford make a number of efforts to join it from the Heathcote League-and of course that's 20 years ago.yes, there are are negatives about the RDFL,but they left when Gisborne went to the bendigo league.

Broadford joined in 1976 and couldn't get out of the RDFL quick enough by 1984, the relegation/promotion system back then was too hard for the smaller towns to handle. Broadford have never contemplated returning, and left long before Gisborne joined the BFL.

My point is -Gisborne is the biggest pile of ********e that played in the RDFL or the Bendigo FL.
LOL... Not a fan Bombers... Fair enough too, waited until the stronger sides in the RDFL defected then decided to splash out on ex AFL players the guarantee them a flag... Dirty buggers they were too.

And you are right on with this point Woods, there is some extremely talented kids coming through in nearly every team in the comp... Will be good to see the 18's comp this year.. And if we can keep these kids in the league, it will only get better..

1-The Relegation/promotion system of those days was pretty hard for all the teams that played then,i dont think it was ever fair.
2- As for negatives,i meant Gisborne rather then referring to Broadford's wanting to return to the RDFL.

I have no time for Gisborne, though i have a lot of respect for Grahame Kays when he played for'em.

Surely Gisborne couldnt return in their present form, it will kill the RDFL, no club would get near them.
