can anybody confirm if lancefeild have appointed a coach yet, heard that the new committee have been talking with a bloke from broadford

woodend have appointed bruce gonzalis we are all waiting for lancefeild
 
the kangaroos are rumored to have commoford signed and training next week, also picking up a couple of key senior players from rupertswood while a couple of past players are considering returning from sunbury
 
sammy bowen has been offered a spot on the bendigo bombers list, if he was a smart kid he would accept it. Big loss for the hawks.

good player, but he woodnt have been offered a spot on the bendigo bombers list, he may have been invited to training, he wasnt even close to gettin drafted

when i say bombers i am talking mainly bout there reserves side, he played one match for them last year and they are just again looking for him to play for there reserves side. Sorry bout the misunderstanding.
 
thats kool thanx mate for clearing that up, but i know he is a good player i played against him a few seasons ago n was in the under 16 calder sqaud with him

Word around the traps is that last seasons Yea Premiership coaches have stood down and are not taking up their positions this year and that Adrian "Dipper" Wilson has taken over the reins.

Sorry scoty, I was unclear with my post. I meant was the Yea coach standing down Doona2. I understand that to be the case unless I'm getting confused about who does what on these boards, lol.

Yes Doona2 and his mate who were joint coaches of the Yea Tiges last season are the blokes who have stood down.

I believe the Tigers have appointed a former Melton chap who now lives in Heathcote - uncertain of name though, will find out for ya's.

Riddell are very lucky to have kept him as i heard that strathmore and greenvale offered him over 800 a game

Blues. Why would strong edfl clubs like greenvale & Strathmore offer james 800 + if he would struggle to get a senior game? Get fair dinkum mate, he would walk into either side if he wanted to. I believe he is actually a true half forward in the same mould as Russell Robertson for Melbourne but his talent allows him to excel at FF or FB (where he previously played).

Your comments are another example of stronger clubs/leagues being so ignorant to some of the talent in the RDFL that they miss out on picking up quality (and often underpriced) footballers. Obviously Greenvale and Strathmore dont fall into that basket because they realised his talent and were prepared to pay handsomely for it.

Yeah Gaz, regretfully had to withdraw. My wife has just had a baby, and she has been very loyal in following me over teh ill for three years. Being realistic I can't guarantee Yea 100% commitment they deserve, and would be selling the club short if I tried. 2006 will be spent watching football here, there and everywhere - ensuring that wherever I apply in 2007 I will have done my homework and are prepared.

Maybe the reformation of Tooboorac might be the go, waste of a big ground with magnificent surface from memory!!!

Where is all this stuff of $800 per game coming from? James may have talent, but not to the tune of $800 per game. Where is that figure coming from? Speculation or fact? For $800, I would have the expectation that a player commanding that sort of money would have at least some degree of AFL background. Let me see, I have $800 to spend on a player, James or Paxman, James or Paxman..... yeh James wins, get serious! Whilst both clubs have a bit of money at the moment, it would be better spent getting two ex VFL players rather than one from the RDFL. I have watched James play, and he is not a $800 player in the EDFL. There are a number of medium size defender in the EDFL that would carve him up!

Watch for a guy by the name of Robbie Ellis at the Kangaroos, had a great start to the year before struggling with injuries. Will be a key player for the Roos this year.
