Another quality post OldMelb...

READ THE THREAD BEFORE YOU COMMENT... Just a little advice.. These 2 guys were talking about a SECONDARY Gisborne Under 18 side coming into the competition next season IN THE UNDER 18's COMP... Riddell, if you, as you say are a "mutual" supporter have a great Under 18's side running around at present, a side that took apart all of the wonderful Gisborne and Sunbury teams 2 years ago in the Under 16 competition and have continued to do so (as they should have) in the RDFL comp last year and the beginning of this year...
So, in closing, once again, GO BACK TO THE THREAD YOU BELONG IN, leave people in here, that actually know what they are talking about to do so.

Did i hear you say good riddens to myself thats special? well bad luck i am back. it is an open thread, an open forum. thats how bad the rdfl league is, you are talking about a secondary school taking part in it. Good on Gisborne but geez if they have all these players, why dont some of them go to other rdfl clubs such as the great kangaroos or riddell. its only a short drive.

Ok boys, its time to start submitting your tips for the weekends matches. Mine will be in thursday night after a recieve my mail.

On another note, and ths may seem out of context:

Diggers Rest will take out the rdfl grand final this year.

Kangaroos to defeat Riddell, This will be quite a good match, Riddell's older wiser midfield against the young Kangaroos midfielders. Heard a small rumour that James may play, dont think it will happen, but if it does wont affect the result. Roos by 18 pts.

Lancefield to upset Kilmore, Kilmore have been going ok this season but still have trouble when they travel, the Tigers will be keen to have a win at home and show that they can be competitive, J.Tully has been in good form and if Scooter plays they can win. Lancefield by 22 points.

Diggers to demolish Rockbank, the Rams have tried hard this year, but they are no where near the Burra. Sims in good form and Steve Ruane dominating the midfield. Diggers by 100+.

Romsey to defeat Woodend, The Hawks were disappointing on the weekend but are a tough team to write off, Dale Cuinik is thier barometer along with Kar Weng. Matty McClellan is dominating the RDFL this season and along with an in form Al Meldrum the Redbacks should win comfortably to give the Hawks more headaches. Romsey by 50 pts.

Centrals to defeat Macedon, the Cats had thier season ended at the hands of Diggers last week and the early signs of improvement are not as strong. Centrals had a pretty bad loss to Kilmore and the rumoured walkout of Corey Battye and disinchantment of coach Shayne Searle will likely have an impact on Centrals, but the players remaining should see them over the line. Centrals by 35 points.

Yeah, you are right, I guess my main concern was the lack of intellectual conversation when you showed yourself, but now that you are back we have someone good enough to bring everyone else down. So my concerns have now disappeared. Why dont you tell us all about how good you are again, oh and dont forget to add how bad we all are...

Why don't you just leave us alone digger9. Is there a past incident which has caused this hate from you towards the rdfl and inparticular the sunbury kangaroos.
Now i dont mean to probe, but if history is any guide it's the players who get dropped and leave these clubs (league's) that use these forums to get their own kind of revenge. It seems your revenge is being taken out mainly on thats_special.
Degrading, cynical, hostile posts aren't the way to go my friend.

Lancefield will not win this weekend, they will give it 110% and still fall short by six goals.

My tips for this week are:

Diggers Rest by 70 points.
Romsey by 24 points.
Kilmore by 36 points.
Melton Central by 30 points.
Riddell by 35 points.

All of those Kangaroos fans who think that they are a show against Riddell are kidding themselves. While Sunbury have shown plenty in the past fortnight, they have played uninspired opposition and will get a wake up call this Saturday. No offence to Sunbury Kangaroos supporters, I admire the way the club is going. But they are long way off premiership material at the moment.

Its a good call and I agree totally, we are certainly are a long way off premiership material at the moment. But I also think that as it stands Diggers Rest and Romsey are the 2 standout sides in the competition, its not because I think the Roos are premiers that I think that they will beat Riddell, but in any case, thats why they are tips.. IMO the Roos can challenge and even defeat Riddell if they stick to game plans.
Riddell though, no matter where the Roos are or how they are playing always come out with both barrells against the Roos, they are the one side that really hates to lose when playing the Kangaroos, whether its Seniors, Reserves or Under 18's, a nice little rivalry exists...:thumbsu:

I cant understand what all the arguing about who is better out of sunbury and gisborne u18's, rupo would beat both of them by inexcess of 10 goals, and thats their second side which comprises of at least 60-70% of kids who are still eligible to play under 16's.

In another point i'm sick of people sticking up for young kids who get criticised for the way they play in the seniors. If your good enough and tough enough to play senior football you should be man enough to cope what criticism comes your way on the chin and develop your game accordingly. John from the Vafa makes a good point about the young ruckmen from the kangas, maybe if the kid took the advice on board he may even be able to play at a level far superior to what is provided in the riddel district league.

All these sunbury kangaroos supporters need to take a step back and really assess where they are in terms of ability and potential. In the opinion of many they have reached their potential and are playing far beyond their ability. They have beat a romsey team that played like it didn't mean a thing and the only other teams they have beat are destined to remain at the bottom of the ladder. The kangas have over achieved being in the position they are in and on saturday and in the comming weeks they will realise this and will find where they really stand in the grand scheme of things and it won't be to far from the bottom of the ladder.

Agree with most of that although I am not sure about the stuff at cebtrals.Had not heard that one.

Kangas are a chance but it could get really ugly for them if the bombers get on top.Riddell are great front runners and tear sides to pieces when they get on top.Have alot of quick on ballers and forwards who love running forward of the ball.Best way to beat Riddell is to stop them from getting the ball to start with.Similar story to Romsey which is why I think Romsey will flog the hawks.Very damaging running side are the redbacks.

The argueing comes from others coming into this thread and trying to put down players in this league. Fair enough "If your good enough and tough enough to play senior football you should be man enough to cope what criticism comes your way on the chin and develop your game accordingly." i understand that, but isnt it ironic how the criticism comes from others who arent even involved in the league????,

Well done to the Under 18 interleague side that last night defeated the WRFL by 13 points.

Did anyone see the game, what were your thoughts???

I thought it was actually quite a good game of football, fast and tough, good to see football played that way.

IMO best players were Jubes, Trav Hede, Matt Stacey, Robbo and Matt Krul at full back.

Just wondering how many of the u/18v interleague team are playing senior footy atm?

From the squad would be.

Jubes, Stacey, Germaine, Bowen from Woodend
Robbo, Climas, Elliott, Petran, Leitch from Riddell
Dawson, Burgess from Romsey
Newton from Kangaroos
Krul from Rockbank
Hede from Kilmore
Kilty from Diggers Rest.
Not sure if any of the guys from Macedon are and there may be more but these are off the top of my head..

What is going on with Burgess though.. Again last night he was just plain ineffective... Has to have an impact on these type of games...

Its a bit rough, you're forgetting that he has never played with these kids before, he has played every game this season in the seniors and has no RDFL Under 18 experience.

I'm sure if Burgess continues to play in the RDFL for the next 3-4 years, he will poll well in the Bowen Medal at some stage. Certainly has a lot of improvement in him.

I agree with you, Burgo is a quality footballer, but even his form for Romsey over the past couple of weeks has been scratchy.. Mick Stacey has barely played a game in the Under 18 comp in 3 years, yet is still able to dominate..

Burgo also had the CHF position, and couldn't get himself into the game, im not bagging the kid, just saying that I know he could have more of an impact on a game, wondering if it is just a form thing atm...:thumbsu:

Its a fair point you make, I think he will back up his potential with a solid game against Ballarat, he has been handy for Romsey, just played out of position. He is a very damaging half-forward/pinch hit midfielder. But Fitzgerald persists with him playing the "quarterback" role in defence.

Stacey continues to shine, but he isn't getting taller and probably needs to get a bit fitter if he wants to be a top ruck in the competition. But I'm sure he will get there, as he is desperate to play top level football.

burgo is a good player... last night was the first night i ever played with most of the boys... loved roving to Stacey n Robbo in the ruck they are both very good ruckman.. staceys 2nd half was the best won everything... it was a good win for the fellas... best players were jooba, stacey, robbo, sully, dan harrison nippa and a few others... had a good time playin wif the boys n hopefully can back it up against BFL

Thought Sully and Dan were good, although Nippa was a bit quiet I thought...:thumbsu:
