Umpires are to be seen not heard and are there to officiate a game of football, a problem the last couple of years is that umps are mouthing back at players adding to the frustration, then complain about the amount of backchat.
Time to shut up and concentate on decisions right decisions lead to less whinging.

From what I have read, don't expect to see Matt Robertson playing this weekend

I think he would only return for the last round or so if kilmore were a chance to make finals otherwise there wouldnt be much point in returning from injury so late in the season

Some good games again this weekend.

Kangaroos Vs Kilmore - Another quality game expected at boardman stadium.. Both sides had good wins last week, the Roos going one game clear of Romsey and Kilmore drawing within striking distance with a win over the Redbacks. Expect both sides to come out hard at the start with nothing but victory in mind.. A Kangaroos loss will have them in danger of missing a finals spot and losing out on an opportunity to have a shot at top 3. A Kilmore loss will almost wipe out finals chances. Roos by 30

Woodend Vs Diggers - Diggers had thier first loss since Round 1 last week and will be keen to get straight back on the winners list, Woodend are playing for the coveted 3rd spot, this will be another beauty, Diggers to almost certainly cement top spot, and Woodend to clear the path to the double chance. Diggers by 12

Riddell Vs Macedon - Macedon have battled hard all season, but injuries have demoralised the side. The Bombers are starting to hit top gear. Hard to see Macedon getting anywhere near the Bombers. Riddell by 80

Romsey Vs Rockbank - Romsey on the rebound are dangerous at any stage, but when you are a struggling Rockbank things dont look too good. Romsey easily 110 points

Melton Central Vs Lancefield - Expect an extremely hard fought game for this one.. Lancefield will be up after a strong win last week and will be looking to gain a spot on the ladder. Centrals played ok last week, but fell away, look for this one to be the upset. Lancefield by 10

Did not fight it - it went straight to the tribunal and they gave him 4. What a joke of a system! Your better off punching someone than telling the umpires where to go. Lucky he has played 2 reserves games and 2 senior games as he comes back in the last round. Just qualifies.
Only need 4 to qualify I think.. So already has qualified...

just a idea. the 2 blokes who have been suspended that have created the most fuss is james and gadsen do you think this could be becasue of frustration of playing higher football and coming back and not being able to dominate in a league they thought they would???? i watched the riddell diggers game and gadsen had a bad day and couldn't seem to find the footy. do you think that maybe it was becasue he was just haveing a bad day

Well James has kicked 30 goals in 3 games.. Dont think he is having trouble having an impact.....

The Sunbury Kangaroos are completely overated!
One player does not make a side and they will soon realise this when they play the top sides in the next few weeks.

your joking arent ya? if you actually watched the roos play kilmore you wouldve seen a 100pt better team... james did kick 13, but if he didnt the amount of times it went into that forward line they wouldve won by the same amount... and they probably shouldve beaten kilmore by more they fell asleep in the last instead of finishing the job but theyll give it a shake and to say there overated... ha more like underated obviously... thats why there 10 wins 4 losses coz there no good....

RDFL juniors are absolutely disgraceful.in the metro carnival they got smashed by every team.
Thats all fine to make that call mate.. But you have to realise that the RDFL junior sides are made up of 1 or 2 at most players from each side in both A and B division.. Not a handpicked side of the top players from the age group... Unlike most leagues.. The players are selected and sent by the coach of each individual team, then a team is put together from that.. Not a true reflection of the competitions worth...

Not real concerned by your post mate.. Just another that will try and write the Roos off as no threat.. You are right, we will see over the next few weeks where the Roos stand, sort of like the first time around when the Roos happened to defeat all 3 of these sides...

Cheers mate, I know all the Kilmore blokes and just about everyone else in the competition, except for a handful of Sunbury and Melton Central blokes.

It was a good win by the Roos, they dominated for 80% of the match. It was a good recruit to pick up James, throw back in Niki and all of a sudden you are premiership contenders.

I think it will be a hard task for you blokes because there isn't a lot of finals experience in your line-up, but I expect you to make the prelims after Saturday's performance.

For mine, I still like Riddell for the flag, always have. But I think it could be raffled this year, the Bombers, Redbacks, Burra, Kangas and Hawks have all looked like world beaters at some stage or another this season. It will all depend on injuries and form leading into the finals.

Surprisingly there is quite a bit of finals experiance in the Roos line up.. The McInerney Brothers, Dean Helmers, Niki of course Jamesy, all played finals football at Macedon at Gisborne. Alot of the younger guys played finals football 2 years ago in the under 18's, I know seniors a bit different, but even that experience will be vital..

That finals statement is not correct, we worked it out not long ago that something like 75+% in the team have come form other clubs where finals been played, and something like 8 blokes who have won top grade flags in other comps, ie; Ballarat and Bedigo

Fair call, but the stat you bring up may also be a reason why you may not achieve the ultimate success this season. The Sunbury Kangaroos have been a close knit bunch on the field and off the field this year, but they have still only played 15 games of footy together (James just three).

Riddell, Diggers and Romsey have 80% of their list from the end of 2004 still playing at the club. Recruits like Gadsden to Riddell and McClellan to Romsey have only increased their playing stocks, all three sides haven't lost many key players.

True to the point, but of those 15 games have played ok, sitting 4th at the moment, could have the opposite effect.. Each game that these guys play together they get better, could be that they will continue to gel as a unit over next 4 weeks and even into finals and be a pretty good unit come finals time.. But like you said, could also backfire in pressure situations.. There will only be one way to find out, that is when the pressure games arrive...

A familiar site is visable once again, the Riddell Bombers back on top of the table!

What is happening at the burra? 2 big losses in a row cannot be good for the boys confidence, and im sure the supremacy they once felt will now be doubted.

Woodend/Hesket move into a great position, 1 game behind diggers rest whilst holding a greater percentage. Will Diggers fall out of 2nd positon???

Important win by the kangaroos, as they answer their critics and stand upto a potentially damaging kilmore (They play Riddell this week to save their season, a must win!).

Strong win by Romsey, great for their percentage.

Kangaroos now play Romsey, Woodend, Riddell

The Burra were travelling beautifully 3 weeks ago, wins against Romsey and the Kangaroos had them in the drivers seat, but 2 losses in a row hurt, they could be in danger but highly unlikely.. They have now played the other sides in the top 5 in consecutive order and are unlikely to drop another game now, should hold on to a top 2 spot at least, highly likely top spot.

Actually at the end of 2004 Diggers lost most of there core senior players. They lost Geddes,Saliba,Marshall,Hedges,Solima,Howlett,Gallop,Armstrong and all the other ex Aberfeldie players which is why what Hopkins has done with them has been so impressive. The side was absolutely gutted post 2004.Diggers basically have only 3 or 4 players in there best 22 over the age of 25 or so.There captain is 22 and assistant coach also 22.It is a completely different side to 2004.Only 6 players from this weeks game played seniors in the 2004 finals.

Just a couple of questions dasher, who is the captain and assistant coach you wrer talking bout. Also when I played under 18's we played against a guy called nick bruton I think it was. He was the ruckman who got drafted on the rookie list by the bulldogs. Just wondering if he is back at the club or is he at another club.

Shaun Sims is the skipper and Cole Laurie (ex Sunbury,Keilor) is the assistant coach.Bruton tried to play for Diggers at one stage this year but his knees wouldn't allow it from all reports.
