How did this happen? Can someone give me a run down. This would have to really hurt Hawks chances of top 3 and flag wouldnt it?
Was actually a pretty good game of footy.. Was the type of game where you were just waiting for Woodend to explode and put the Cats away, but the Cats wouldn't let them.. They were always hanging around and nipping at the Hawks heels.. Macedon used the ball pretty well around most of the ground, and if they had have been more effective in the forward 50 would have won by more.. One guy dropped 5 or 6 marks that he should have easily taken.

No-one from the Hawks grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck really.. They had a few good players, but no-one really did anything over the top special... Kar Weng won the medal for BOG and he did play a good game, but I thought young James Wright was a bit stiff, played a fantastic game of football, as did Commerford...

But all in all, superb win for the Cats, type of win that could turn the club's fortunes around.... :thumbsu:

I also read that article in the review and i agree that it was b u l l s h i t. not only the author, but also the editor who allowed that crap to be published should never write about football again, they should leave the football articles to the journos that know footy. I have played with and against a james and I know he gets nowhere near the frees that he should. There isnt many players playing regional footy that can stop him on his day. the umpires know this so they dont give him much at all. last year I seen him kick 14 goals out of 16 for albion against st albans in 3 quarters and they got up by a goal. He won the game by himself. He received 2 free kicks for the day, should of got 8, especially when the opposition have him in a headlock. If kangaroos make the granny and they have very good umpires "LOOK OUT" he might decide to kick 15 and win them the flag.

remember he is 6'5, how can you beat him? rough him up a little, hit him high, hold on, do what ever you can and know your doing the wrong thing, just hope you dont give away the kick. There will always be frees against if you cant beat your opponent, but, if the ump calls everything he see's, he is the one that will come under scrutiny. if 1 player gets 10+ goals all from free kicks it doesn't reflect on the players always the ump, nobody ever looks at why the kick was given just the stats at the end of the day. unfortunatley that is the way it goes and he will have to put up with it.

Agree footyguy... I think it has been proven over the whole thread that most on here enjoy talking about any of the sides in the comp... But the real fear for these guys is that the so long pathetic easybeats aint such easybeats any more... A few even made huge statements a few pages back about how the Roos would fall in a hole, fair enough, they have done so in the past, but it may be lookin a little different for these people this year...

You complain about it, instead of wasting your post on writing about the Roos like everyone else, why not give us a rundown on your side.. Everyone's waiting for it...

2 blokes make a team! Well we have all learnt something from this, next year the the RDFL only require 10 blokes! Sorry to the 500 or so, your not required next year, apparently its been proven somewhere that you can win games with 2 blokes! Just hear say though! Think before typing in future!

Just because the Roos don't have 6 or so superstar's like the other 3 or 4 teams, it's in the middle section group of player's that perform week in week out and they're is about 12 - 16 of them that have a crack every week, hence where they are now! Makes it difficult for opposition teams to man up on players you don't know.

G'day Duff!

Watching the Kilmore V Roos 2 weeks ago, just wanting to know who number 13 is for Kilmore? 13 Goals down and kicks 2 goals, good effort! But champ you do not celebrate a goal like 'straunie' or a 'aeroplane' when your down that much down, played well, but not called for! Chin up champ, thing's will work out, look at JR and Duff. Rumour has it an the 'Old Man Goudgie' got the can's from the Sunbury game, can anyone clarify this? Kilmore need Maxi, its not debateable!:thumbsu:

People are expecting to be able to do whatever they want to James without repurcussions free kick wise.. Very similar to Lee James.. But Billy, no, the umpires were ok on the weekend.. There were a couple that could have been, but thats footy... Overall, they were pretty good, if there was an infringement it was paid..
As for the coach.. In the article.. I dont think it was sour grapes.. He did say that when you are 6 foot 5 its hard enough to stop you, but when you get frees as well it makes it hard.. But again, people will think that the best way to stop him is to scrag him and hope the umps dont pay frees.. But realistically, he is just another player, you would hope that if the infringement is against any player on the field then it should be paid...:thumbsu:

The coach of kilmore is just annoyed that James wasnt playing on his side he shouldnt be such a sook.
And as for that article that Lauren wrote after the game she should get out of writing because if your gonna talk about something you have NO idea about then your a DI@KHEAD!!!!
She wasnt even at the game!!!

Pre- Aaron James you would have to say Lee james,, but this year it's between these blokes;

M McClellan
S Sims
M McInnerny
L James - Been injured
Burlak
A James
J Rowe

Number 13 was Trav Hede.. Goudgie did indeed get the cans.. Played a lone hand up forward for the Blues...

Burlak!!!! Are you serious??? Poor list...

No Matt Robertson?

Top players in the comp no particular order at this stage...

Shaun Sims, Arnel Davis, Steve Ruane, Lee James, Jason Allen, Mark McInerney, Bobby Johnson, Mick Lacy, Dale Cuinik, Aaron James, Mick Gadsden, Matt McClellan, Matt Robertson, Al Meldrum, Jeremy Jose.

In my opinion though, the best of this lot that I have seen this year would be Ruane.. Dominated every game I have seen him play...

So Mark Strack, Luke Carroll, Simon Choate, Scott Clark, John Rowe, Warren Else and Kar Weng Ng don't got a guernsey?

Love the way Bulldog plays.. Against the Roos though had a very quiet day.
Luke Carroll close but no cigar, played a good game.
Warren Else was beaten by a 2nd rate full forward against us.
John Rowe was good both times but dont rate in the same category as the others, cant put the whole comp in :p

Must admit, I missed Kar Weng, he should be on that list...
