Does anyone else get annoyed when country driving and your adaptive cruise control is set to 110 but then you come up to someone doing about 108? So then you have to make a decision as to whether it's worth overtaking and maybe come across as someone who seems in a rush for no reason, or do you just put up with going 2kms slower?

I usually overtake. I can't see my speedo needle dip below 110.
No, the most f**ken frustrating thing with country driving (which I obviously do a lot of) is some dawdling campaigner doing 80 in the 110 zone when it's a single lane and then suddenly managing to remember where the accelerator is right at the overtaking lane, so much so they are able to do 120 by the time they get to the end of the overtaking lane. Of course dropping straight back down to 80 once it's one lane again.

And they've usually got a caravan in tow too

Yeah, that's just cunny behaviour.

I overcome it by doing 130 or 140 in a short burst to get past, and crossing my fingers there aren't an unmarked police vehicle isn't nearby.

Speaking of which, I did a camping trip in the goldfields recently and on the way back was cruising at 120 when approaching a town (maybe Dalwallinu or Wubin) and got radar'd and pulled over, which admittedly is completely fair enough. Obviously I was gone, fine incoming. Was told I was doing 117 and would be let off with a warning.

The lesson I took from the experience - my speedo is 3k's out.

Also - don't speed kids.

Yeah loads of numpties in caravans.
I actually find it's quite often older people in little hatchbacks as well, as soon as they sense someone coming up along side them they seem to break out of their little dementia coma and remember they're actually driving a car on the road.

A dementia coma sounds nice.

I've often thought it's a safety thing that happens without them really noticing. Two lanes gives them some comfort to feel more able to drive at the country speeds, when it drops to a single lane they shit bricks and slow down again.

It is infuriating and happens every overtaking lane without fail.

Lucky, I thought it wasn't wise tonight, still recovering from the flu
I've managed to avoid all illness the past winter, which has literally never happened to me before.

I'm going overseas in December, I expect I will come done with Dengue Fever and Ebola as soon as I take off.

I managed to get covid in June, about 3 days into my only holiday this year.
Then I've had 2 more colds and then this flu. Never been this sick in my life, I normally avoid everything.
Where you heading to?

I'm on the verge of entering one.

I'm starting to put all the pieces together for my strategy going into next Winter

Did they take you to the hospital?
Nah they said things should improve soon and they kinda did.

Ever since then I do get nervous getting drunk and getting into bed. I was quite drunk then but soon as my bed hit the pillow I was gone.

Trying to sleep while the room spins around is one of the worst parts of getting drunk lol

Lately if I have a big night my heart rate goes up and stays up all night, makes it very hard to sleep much

Nice one, what's it like over there?
It's beautiful. But too expensive as a tourist. Flights alone start at about $1,700pp. For a family of 4, that's not feasible on a regular basis. Luckily we have family to stay with and the local knowledge that allows us to tap into, but to stay at a resort for a week you can add on another $7K+.
