Has any team ever in one year taken:

1) Norwich Rising Star

and

2) Coaches' Player of the Year

and

3) Coaches' Coach of the Year

and

4) Liston Medal

and

5) VFL Premiership

and

6) Norm Goss Medal

and

7) Brownlow Medal

and

8) AFL Premiership?

(I didn't mention the minor premiership because there's no award for that)

Should this eventuate, would this be a first? (not to mention a Norm Smith either)

A geelong mate was telling me that a lucky (smart) punter had tipped Geelong to take out:
1. Rising star
2. VFL prem
3. Brownlow
4. AFL prem.

You guys know anything about this, or sums involved? Apparently it is quite well known.

Anyway, well done Bartel and finish the job of on Saturday boys. Let's hope it is more '62, rather than '89.

Good luck boys.

Only one award to go

Man, I am trying to keep the lid on still (kind of pointless me guesses) but man, look at the year...

JJ Liston Trophy (James Byrne)
VFL Premiership
Norm Goss Medal (Tom Lonergan)
Brownlow (James Bartel)

Hell, I even claim the Coleman - Jonathon Brown played for the Falcons.

Can I take the lid off now?

Re: Only one award to go

players association player of the year

players association coach of the year

Herald sun player of the year

The age player of the year

I took that a few weeks ago at $26.

The McClelland Trophy??

The Dr. William C. McClelland Trophy

The McClelland trophy was inaugurated in 1951. It was awarded to the club accumulating the highest number of points over three levels of competition (Senior, Reserves and Under-19). This was maintained until 1990, when the move to a one team national competition was undertaken. The McClelland Trophy is now awarded to the Minor Premier (i.e., the team finishing on top of the ladder after the Home and Away season.) The trophy was instituted to recognise the service of Dr. McClelland as a player, club delegate for Melbourne and VFL President from 1926 - 1955.

The Essendon Football Club won the McClelland Trophy in 1999 for finishing the Home and Away season on top of the ladder with 18 wins from 22 starts.

to be fair, I think you are the only team with a corresponding VFL team?

So that would be impossible to match...

I got on this when it first came out @ $81. Unfortunately, if its the same one I have (which it would be, because I think only one betting agency had it - Sportsbet), we lost - the brownlow part had to be Gary Ablett. I'm still alive though - I took 2 @$6 and 3 @ $17. Put $10 on each. Hopefully, I do more than double my money!!

Not exactly. All Victorian AFL teams field players in VFL teams.

Oh ok. I was under the impression that Geelong's (AFL) reserves played in the Geelong (VFL) side..

and that for example, the Hawks reserves played in various teams throughout the VFL?

That's how it is in SA and WA.

The other Melbourne teams all have "alliances" with VFL teams. It works like this, or did this year:

Carlton - Northern Bullants
Collingwood - Williamstown
Essendon - Bendigo Bombers
Hawthorn - Box Hill
Kangaroos - Tasmania & North Ballarat...half their players played for one, the rest played for the other
Melbourne - Sandringham
Richmond - Coburg
St.Kilda - Casey Scorpions
Bulldogs - Werribee
