Right and wrong. We have not offered Tom a contract at this stage, but he also has not yet been delisted. We are likely assessing the state of the list after the trade period to decide whether to re-sign him or resign him. I'm resigned to the latter.

Yep it reinforces the point that Paddy was set on coming to us all along, although that was never really in doubt the only people who thought pick 5 was on the cards for Ryder were delusional Bummer fans.

Looks like it's (reluctantly) club initiated.

It was initiated by a usually reliable journo (I think it Emma Q at the Age?), who among the more important and sensational facts of the Ryder trade probably has less interest in whether Port, The Saints or Cam suggested the idea of his being involved, and very likely doesn't know who if anyone initiated it TBH. In fact she might simply have been trying to put two and two together based on the so far unsubstantiated rumour that the Saints (ie Richo) were into Cam.
